Would you buy one of these?

Hey guys. I'm trying to get a feel for what the buyers want so I want to know what you think. Please have a look at these two sts stands below. Tell me, do they look like something you need and would buy? I've been in the prototyping stage on my own design for about a year and I'm hopeful that there's a market for these but I'm curious how big the market really is. Please don't ask for any pictures or web links because I can't provide either. My patent info is not yet filed so I can't post any pictures and I'm not a site sponsor so I don't want to intrude on the Pit Bull dealers who support this site financially. I just want to know what you think. Do you like their design? Is the price too high to justify the purchase? Would you change their design if you could? Please let me know what you think because your opinions are what I really care about. Thanks.

Ian,
There has been interest in the trailer restraint, but almost everyone who liked the produt mentioned that it waalmost cost-prohibitive. I hope that helps.

how much are the systems? you have to get under the Baxley wheel chock and 2 tie downs I think..

the baxley does not load the forks, the restraints are passive and they just provide stability left/right

Hal has a trailer he hauls 6 at a time like this... and agreed, the idea is to get the preload off forks

here ya go, I knew he posted some images, he hsa better ones but this gives the idea

I have the Condor Pit / Trailer Stop and quite honestly love them. I load whatever on the trailer, drive into the chock and get off the bike. I run two straps from the frame near the foot pegs forward tp the hooks I put on the outside of the Condor Stabilizer framework and I'm done. No fork pressure no hassles no issues. IF the system you are proposing is less expensive than the $215 I paid for the Condor's, I may consider them as they do look like they'll hold the bike securely. I can tell you that the rear of the bikes will move left to right without stops in place with the condor style chock. Not a big point but one just the same.

Hope this was helpful

I tend to agree with what MC is saying... From what I've seen posted, the members love the concept but can't see spending the xtra $ for a product that does virtually the samething as the Condor or Baxley! No one here has reported any issues with the preload condition when using either of these two stands that resulted in a issue for their bike. Now, that could change.... But, I still think if the price was similar it would be a one, two, knockout!

Ian,

Something like the Pitbull that installs on the bike and latches into place would be more desirable to me than the st version. The ST looks like it would take 2 people to secure.

There is a market but I don't think it will be as big as the condor/baxley type. Because the motorcycle is loaded rolling forward in the trailer the rear style seems like it would take longer to load. If the price point is WAY lower than the condor and baxley, it might sell well.

first off pitt bull's new trailer restraint setup should keep the bike from moving in every direction except it would allow the front end to bounce in worse case senerio.

Second....stem lift stands are what are sought after by shops. I personally would buy more of them to have on hand if they weren't so darn expensive.

Third, while stands are very economical every company should have a range of products. I would like to see someone make these:

If they aren't available for my future shop, I will build my own.

Just an FYI Last year when i trailered my bike to Daytona, with a Baxley, i had it strapped in to tight and blew my fork seals!

I really like the idea of pit bulls trailer stand. If I could mount one in my truck it would already be there.

I have talked to pit bull and have been told that the stand has been tested in side impact crashes and the bike didnt move. Now thats from them. I would love to see some test footage but Ill take there word for it. They have never been wrong in the past to me.

If the price was around 200 I would be all over it. I do still have two trailors to put them in .

So sounds like if you can build these in the same price range as most traditional stands then you have yourself a winner! Thanks for the post on blown seals as well... That is honestly the first I've seen.

I would be interested in the strapless transport stand. The price may not be too bad if it includes the mounting hardware, and related hardware for the specific bike it was ordered for. And it does for that price. but, with it being mounted in the rear of the trailer, like mine, how easy to remove when I want to unload the bike? Just not sure how user friendly it would be when not "going down the road".
