Yosh RS-3 bolt-ons

So I am new here. Bought a new 07 busa a couple months ago. I put up with the quiet exhaust for the entire break-in period just because I thought I should leave it stock for that. I installed the RS-3 bolt-ons a few weeks ago. Its ok at high speed or under heavy acceleration, but I want it to be louder all around. Is it possible to pull out those annoying baffles? I was hoping there was a way to do it without rivet tools or dismantling the cans. Also, will I need a tune because of this modification to the cans, or will it run similar to how it runs now without tuning etc? I want a simple quick fix for a louder sound, but don't want it to cause other issues with tuning or anything. Thanks for any help or advice!

No, you dont NEED a retune if you just changed the cans. It'd be nice to do to get the FI system in synch with your elevation and atmosphere but you'll be good just changing the cans.

Noise?
There are baffles in the back, usually secured with a set screw that is tack welded in. If you have that set up file off the tack weld (sloooooowwwwly) and slide the baffle out, that'll make em a little bit louder but Yosh cans are not 'noisy', they do have a deep, sexy hum to them though.

Do you know if you have the race or street baffle cans? The race are straight through.

I have a set of race RS-3s and a PCIII-USB w/ a pre-loaded map and a BMC air filter I'll be installing this weekend (thanks Dale!). I wanted really loud exhaust as well (HMF and Boz comes to mind) but too loud attracts attention from the LEO is annoying to ride behind. I have a motorcycle thoroughway to the FL Hills not too far from my house and I hear the loud exhaust notes all day long on weekends. LEO now sits along this road on the weekends.

thanks for your replyies guys. I had the last few days off so i took the cans off and took a chance on drilling out the tack welded bolts holding those silencers in. It ended up working and making the bike sound perfect to my taste! I also do not like too loud or obnoxious pipes(like my gsxr600 with D&D pipe) thats why I went with Yosh, but I needed just a little more sound. Not too worried about LEO... I am an officer myself. They usually leave me alone. Thanks again!

if you have a chance can you give me a little more info on how you did this mod. It sounds good and would like to try it. Thanks

Glad you figured it out.

After I bought my RS-3's from Yosh, I called and they said that they just started putting the set screws on the carbon fiber RS-3's (previously you had to drill out the rivets, disassemble the unit, and remove the baffles).

They're great-sounding cans!
