Yosh slip-ons.

Before I get beat up I’m sure this has been beaten to death but I can’t find anything specific to my question for this generation.

Was looking to do the cf Yosh slip-ons. If I install those will the stock ecm have issues? I wanted to keep this thing as in warranty as possible for the 24 year. I seen a video from Moore mafia that had a stock tune with a full system and the a/f was way off. Thinking the slipons with the mid pipe cat should keep things in check. Anyone got first hand experience with this? Also can’t seem to find any good videos of the Yosh on the bike besides guys limiter bouncing it standing still. One final question I seen someone post the Yosh pipe has a db killer installed and it’s removable. Can anyone confirm? I like the look of the duals and if no one makes a dual system I might have a fabricator cut out the cat the year after and Moore flash it. Thanks in advance.

It’ll run fine with the stock ecu with very little or nothing gained with an ecu flash on slip ons. Baffles are removable with an Allen key. Should keep the warranty, mine has a full Akra and is in countless times for warranty.

Thats good to know. I was speaking with a guy at the dealership that pretty much said the same thing. I just like the way the duals look better and want some sound but cruising the bike not draggin it.

has dual cf Yoshimura slipons on his gen3.

MaxTorque with an X pipe, and Black Widow with a H pipe make a Gen3 universal 4 into 2 header that eliminates the cat and works with any slipons.
I would caution against using max torque x pipe check my post on this.. the tolerances are off and my experience is bad. Best option with the yoshi slipons is to stay with stock headers

I took a video of mine but I can’t get it to post from my iPhone and iPad, I’ll try to figure that out later today but here’s a couple of photos. I still have my mid cat and I haven’t noticed any issues with the ECU stock tune. It’s actually a little bit louder than the video sounds, has a deep throaty sound, I like everything about the Yoshi slip-ons, very satisfied with the mod. I hope this helps.

Really the stock front header, even with the under cat, does a remarkable job HP wise. Unless you do a full system and a tune and stacks and filter etc slip ons are a great way to go for a bit more sound and looks.

Ok I admit I’m not computer savvy, I apparently never posted a video here, my videos are in my photo library but when I click on attach files then photo library I only have the option of photos, my videos don’t show up, can someone help? Thanks.

I have the Yoshi's too. They do not come with the dB killer inserts, that is extra. I have the inserts, the lower the sound just a little. They are not super loud to begin with, and inserts are removable in 2 mins.

I got an email from Yoshimura R&D and they confirmed no flash needed at sea level.

The Yoshi slip-ons on a good day yield unnoticeable power to the butt dyno. They don't need a tune. I have the JDM Hepta Force ones, which are a bit different than the USDM R77 models. According to the Yoshimura Japan website:

"Increases maximum 4.1% of power & torque and reduces 56% of weight compared to the stock mufflers."
PowerWith SD#98+2.6% / 10,500rpm
Without SD+2.3% / 10,100rpm
TorqueWith SD#98+2.6% / 10,500rpm
Without SD+2.4% / 10,100rpm
