Yoshimura differences?

What exactly is the difference between the Tri-oval RS-3 Full race sytem and the Oval RS-3 Full race system? Is it sound, performance or both? Thanx

I did read this but it does not tell me anything really. The way I read it is that the shape is different and they do not mention anything about advantages of one design over the other. Am I correct in my assumption?

Pop, I think that the oval design offers greater cornering clearance, the RS3 is available in 4-2-2, 4-2-1 and two different sound levels. Seems to me the difference between the two full race systems is the shape/material of the can. Once I gutted my S/S RS3 4-2-1 it sounds great and seems to flow pretty good.

Mr Brown is right. Tri-oval is mounted a bit higher than rs-3 or trs models.

The Tri-Oval is not mounted higher than the TRS. If you get FULL titanium then its a high mount and you lose the passenger peg, but if you stay with SS pipes they are both low mounts. Busahaya has a Tri-Oval and I have a TRS. Same clearance. The Tri-Oval looks and sounds better than a TRS my opinion. As far as performance, I don't know. Busahaya and I are both getting pciiir soon and we might have them dynoed. I'll post back with some numbers if we dyno.

There are three options. The RS-3 is the regular oval can, the TRS is the triangle can with a single outlet, and the Tri-Oval is the racing version of the TRS. You can tell a Tri-Oval by its two outlets. The RS-3 and the TRS should produce the same power, while the Tri-Oval s suppost to produce more low end torque. The RS-3, from what I have hear, has a slighty lower note to it than the TRS. Both RS-3 and TRS comes in zyclone, which is a more quite street version, and a race baffle. I personally would recomend the race baffle, its not much louder and sounds much better. So, basically the only difference in the two is a slight sound difference and ground clearence, unless you go all out and buy a Tri-Oval.

My friend's busa has TRI-OVAL full titanium high mount without the passenger peg and i tought all tri-ovals are high mounted sorry.

I have a TRS full with race baffle and it sounds a bit softer than TRI-OVAL but both is noisy enought
