Youtube gurus

I' m having technical difficulties with Youtube right now. When I go to Youtube to try and watch videos, it tells me:

Hello, you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player.

I upgraded to the latest version, and tried to turn on JavaScript. It still won' t let me view any videos. The last time I had visited the site, I had no problems, and I changed no settings between visits. When a video is posted in a thread here on the forum, it works fine. How do I fix this?
