I know there is probably a few threads about this but i just wanted to find out what everyone's feelings are on this bike. In my bike magazine i was reading at work it went a 9.65 stock and with minor mods like pipes etc...it clicked off a 9.3 have to admit thats pretty insane....but i still like Suzuki better

From what we've seen so far, including big drag racing events, the Kawasaki clearly hasn't been up to the challenge... It's an impressive bike, but not enough to be king

Now i think it comes down to your tastes more than anything. If you like the bike, you won't regret it... But if you still prefer the Busa, i dont think you have a second class machine like Kawi tought you would...

Bottom line... It took'em 7 years... FOR NOTHING!!!! I know i'm keeping my Busa for sure

I am waiting to see my first one on the road.  Why you might ask, to laugh.  That is one ugly bike.  As far as the performance, any machine with numbers like that is respectable. Like so many others have said, what did Kawi's R&D people do for the last 7 years.  I would guess there has been a lot of $$ spent in that camp and to come with that.  Hmmmmmmm    I don't think so.  My mighty Busa will remain the king and no matter what any other company builds. Zuki set the standard for extreme high performance sport/touring bike.  It is the bike that all others will be compared to for quite awhile I am guessing.

Just my $.02.

The first street bike I had was a Kawi and it was a great little ole bike! To this day I have a good bit of respect for them and I am sure that the 14 is an awesome piece of machinery.

BUT, the Busa has the entire package thing going on; Zuke has melded a combination of looks and performance that are second to none. Maybe the 14 IS faster but it aint gonna beat the Busa in the market place.

Here is one minor reason why.
My 9 year old son looks at every bike (and Corvette) out there. When we are going down the road he notices all of them but the sport bikes all look darned near the same. He cant tell one from the other. But a Busa?
He can pick them out everytime!

They have respect, the have name recongnition and they stand out like a roach on a wedding cake at stop lights. Just ask my 9 year old!

The 14 is awesome.
But when all the crotch rockets go to bed at night they will still be saying their prayers to the Busa!

At least there's some competition in the market now, which will make the Busa even better than it is--that is, if you can make it better! Honestly, I think it'd be cool to see what Honda and Yamaha could do in this exclusive class.

I wonder what the 07 busa is going to be like...you know its going to be insane because i think suzuki likes the title of fastest production bike in the world and these stock numbers are starting to get insane lol i mean 186hp on a stock bike....that is

The release of the Hayabusa rocked the motorcycle industry off it's feet...for seven long years...and besides it's unique stying with que's taken straight from a wind tunnel it's highly refined, ultra linear power delivery combined with extreme levels of awesome high speed stability and highly refined reliability is what made the Hayabusa a living two wheeled legend in it's own time and king of zing for 7 long years.

The ZX-14?...arguably...barely nudges out the busa in one single area...by an extremely small margin...peak power...the rest remains to be seen/experienced...to boot?...the ZX-14's engine design incorporates a one piece crankcase/jugs casting...so?..unlike the Hayabusa?...where one can simply swap out the jugs for a big bore kit?...Kaws ZX-13.5 will always be a 13.5...unless one goes with a head-spacer arrangment and strokes it out which also requires new longer rods and a new crank with a longer throw value...not the prefered platform for serious drag racers and/or extreme engine builders...and to the masses?...damn few if any will have the wherewithall to ever outride either...so?...which would you prefer?...a seven year living legend of a battle hardened, vastly upgradable hypersportbike who's overall reliabiliy has been refined to "Bullet Proof" status or?...a first model year bike that offers a miniscule peak power advantage in stock form?...and some will undoubtedly choose the later...mostly for bragging rights...and to them I offer up my most heartfelt best wishes....as I'll stick with the Hayabusa....cause I know what I got and it's was already more than I'd ever need...even back when it was still in stock form...with my full akro and pc which should soundly place it "Heads Up" with a stock ZX-13.5....and..
