The release of the Hayabusa rocked the motorcycle industry off it's feet...for seven long years...and besides it's unique stying with que's taken straight from a wind tunnel it's highly refined, ultra linear power delivery combined with extreme levels of awesome high speed stability and highly refined reliability is what made the Hayabusa a living two wheeled legend in it's own time and king of zing for 7 long years.
The ZX-14?...arguably...barely nudges out the busa in one single area...by an extremely small margin...peak power...the rest remains to be seen/experienced...to boot?...the ZX-14's engine design incorporates a one piece crankcase/jugs casting...so?..unlike the Hayabusa?...where one can simply swap out the jugs for a big bore kit?...Kaws ZX-13.5 will always be a 13.5...unless one goes with a head-spacer arrangment and strokes it out which also requires new longer rods and a new crank with a longer throw value...not the prefered platform for serious drag racers and/or extreme engine builders...and to the masses?...damn few if any will have the wherewithall to ever outride either...so?...which would you prefer?...a seven year living legend of a battle hardened, highly refined, vastly upgradable that's been refined to "Bullet Proof" status or?...a first model year bike that offers a miniscule peak power advantage in stock form?...and some will undoubtedly cjoose the later...mostly for bragging rights...and to them I offer up my most heartfelt best wishes....as I'll stick with the Hayabusa....cause I know what I got and it's was already more tha I'd ever need...even back when it was in stock form and..
