Does the ECU need to be the provider for the power to the injectors? In a similar way that the ECU needs to provide power for the sensors as a voltage reference.
I know they are all powered by a single wire coming form the ECU. On a gen2 it's from pin 33. Then they're grounded back to the ECU and triggered that way.
I'm adding an AiM PDM that can supply power and log virtually everything. It'd be great to use that for the injector power so that I can setup an alert if one is beginning to fail. But I haven't been able to find anything that says it needs to supply the power from the ECU as a reference source for the grounding.
The PDM will power the ECU, as well.
