New Hayabusa queries

Hi friends I’ve done a few kilometers of riding in the city and a short spin on the highway .
1) is it normal for the quickshifter to feel clunky ? Really clunky and sometimes stubborn to shift
2) on a cracked area of road at ambling speeds what is the shuddering vibration I get to hear from the speedo panel as if something is loose , it’s a kind of vibration akin to abs coming on ( jittery)
Could it be the centre steering bolt a little loose , because I do feel a click while applying brakes
3) would 42 psi be correct for front and rear tyre
4) the bike is deceptively fast and amazing
Thanks

1) there have been several reports from members here that there is an issue with the quick shifter on the gen 3...
2) something must be loose as nobody else mentioned this rattle
3) way too high....that is the max tire pressure...most here run in the mid 30s.....tire pressure is something that is adjusted for different riding...if you are two up for instance, you would put the rear tire pressure higher.....I believe it is hot where you are and air pressure rises when it gets hot so I'd be running mid to low 30 psi in them.
4) that's the consensus of the Hayabusa regardless of generation.....the "do all bike"

Love my quick shifter, it’s far better than the one on my previous H2 SX SE.
I do use it mostly in the more sporty mode and normally when I’m riding “enthusiastically”.

I often run 42-42, aftermarket S22’s, dry roads, solo 80kg rider.
I’ve run between 36-38 and. 42-42.
I understand the advantages of different psi’s but like the feel of higher.

1) Yes, and it gets worse with intermittent hesitation's for me mostly in the lower gears, 1,2,3 Downshifts and auto blip works pretty good and consistently.
2) I haven't experienced that one.
3) That is the max psi, I wouldn't say "correct" I run different levels of PSI depending on what kind of riding. I will typically only run max PSI when I'm on a road trip to get better mileage and reduce wear on top of the tire.
4) It really is....

General opinion relating to the budget quick shifter, throw it in the bin and get an aftermarket unit.

Check all the bolts around the dash area as I had a couple lose from the get go and tightened them all back up.

I usually run 38 front and rear then 42 when loaded with luggage.
Dash area ? Bolts ? I wish I could find them , pls point me to any . Thanks

Is this how that’s supposed to be from factory I mean should not both sides be in same position or it doesn’t matter ? Thanks

They both should be turned the same amount, and sometimes they don't turn to exactly the same position.
Turn them both all the way in and count the number of turns out.
It is an adjustment.
You need to learn how to set it anyway.

I find the auto-blipper is clunky - it works, but with an almighty clunk. The demo I took out was exactly the same. Quick shifting up, amazing! I've watched a few YouTube vids and can hear the same autoblip-clunk on other gen 3's. When I watched one of Fastlane D vids he was a on a slightly modded gen 3 and I could every single clunky downshift before he remarked the auto-blipper felt "suss". Must be the way they are. Come to think of it, my Super Duke R was a bit like that unless you were hard on decel using the overrun.

Haha ok it’s the same as my 10 yrs old ninja 1000 ( does not have quickshifter) but u can change without clutch at low speeds

Yes I must learn I agree , I’m also guessing the vibration is coming because of the 42 psi mentioned in the manual . Our group members are using 36 for front , I would like to try that

If the tires gain 2-4 psi after riding an hour or so (and they do) and you started @ 42, do you want to ride around all day with 45+ psi?

Replying my own question , the culprit was the top nut of the steering causing vibrations in the handle bar . You require 32 bit socket to tighten , using a torque wrench tightened to 90 nm as specified in workshop manual ; vibrations have completely gone

Glad that is what it turned out to be. It is something very common, unfortunately, and where others were directing you in their responses.

More poor quality on Suzuki's part.
Glad you got it fixed.
