250.+++ MPH at the Loring AFB
event this past weekend.

Racers earning time-slips over 250 mph-
up to 299 mph earn what is called in the
USA, a "AA" competition license.

There are probably fewer than three dozen
such license holders in the world.

Now, Ed has his....

Congratulatons Ed- holding a big hp turbo bike WFO for two miles has to be a rush. Wow.

We are waiting for some more pics, but here is one of him spinning the tire at over 200 mph . . .

Nice printed piece about the "grandmotherly" Angle Paws, who at age 46
has set the women's outright record at 264 MPH.

Now having a good look at the bike, one can see aditional horsepower
in the exhaust system, and additional speed in the aerodynamics.

I am willing to bet that 275 MPH is possible with an open exhaust
(just remove the silencer and fit bigger exhaust pipe),
and with a better "tail" on the bike.

about 1.0 mile, but some racers used
less that that length to achieve their results.)

It is apparent from the track listings and dates that
motorcycle LSR (Land Speed
Racing) is now a true international sport.

and the return of Russia ?

The SCTA (Southern California Timing Association)
was the first LSR organization to issue "licenses"
for the various speeds.

U = Unlimited
AA = 250 - 299
A = 200 - 249
B = 175-199
C = 150 - 174
D = 125 - 149
E = 0 - 124

Some of the other organizations
follow these same classifications.

Our friend KEN12R reports good news today
from the meet in England:

Jack Frost on the other hand was on fire
with FIVE 260 mph runs mostly in the afternoon after
the wind dropped with a best last run of 263.912 mph
getting very close to Becci's (Ellis) track record.

That will move Jack up from 20th
to maybe 10th place on "The List"

Once you get over 260 MPH,
the competition thins out......
