The '03 Burning Copper Metalic is NOT a LE, The LE was Black. Its a AE or Anniversary Edition, Made for Suzuki's 40th Anniversary..Its worth about a $100 dollars more on resale. Its all in what you want, a color thing.. I know for that kind of money mine couldn't be bought..
your dealer is keeping the 05 price pumped up to make the 03 look better to you.
It's a simply tactic that most dealers (car, bike, boat, rubber waterhose, whatever!) use to move old inventory.
You can get a 05 for close to $9200 with a little leg work.
maybe not quite exactly $9200,, but close enough that you'll take the one you want and stop worrying about the little money savings that can, or can not be had.

Crepitus, you better buy that thing before I pay off my V-Rod, otherwise I might have to buy it myself!!
Although they're not on the site, when I bought mine in September of last year, Oneida also had two black/purple 2004's. They may have sold them, or the '03 might be on the site because they want to get rid of it first. If you like the black/purples, it's worth a call to see if they still have them...

ok i am back again with a few more questions. i sat on an 03 Zx12R leftover at the dearer and i felt it had a bit more leg room. i am 6'1". do you guys feel the 12 has more leg room? now i have to make my decision on which bike to get. the busa was always my first choice. but now i am thinking. Comfort is my #1 thing.
You can always get aftermarket rear-sets if you want to adjust for your size or some even buy used GSXR1000k sets and use them.
I am 6' 2" and I have plenty of room on the Busa. I actually feel more comfortable on the Busa because I feel I'm part of the bike on long rides and can move around more when I need to stretch. The 12 seemed high up and even though my legs weren't bent as much, they didn't feel right stretched out more.
Something else to think about is your weight! The Busa has a lot more TORQUE and doesn't work as hard for the same results. You will have to REV the 12 more than the Busa......IMO!
I wish you could get someone to let you ride them both. I just have never liked the feel of the Kaw's! If you plan to mod, the Busa is the much better choice.....for aftermarket parts, power, TURBO, etc... If you can't get a ride on either, go and see if you can sit on them with it on the side stand for a good 5-15-minutes. That might help you decide better if all else fails!
