I've always wanted a literbike painted like a true race machine. So when i stopped in BlueRidge powersports to check stuff out, the first thing i see is the new Repsol edition 1000RR, i had to fight myself not to do anything stupid like trading the busa.(They'd only give my $5800 for my 04' anyway)

Dammit!, now i'm feeling impulsive about buying that damn bike again after writing this!

Here's a pic, it looks alot better in person.

Umm not to being a ####, but I have found that just about all the REP painted bikes end up looking really dated/tacky after just a year or so. Does that make sense? All the sponsorship graphics and such just wind up looking tired. Remember the Camel Team colors? Yeah...

Now this 1K CBR, does look pretty nice, but I wonder what appeal it will have in another year or so? Or if it will also end up looking dated fast...

ummm.... did you tell them to go get bent ? I would have walked out the door if they told me that for a 1yr old bike, they would give me 50% less than what most folks pay OTD for it new.

seriously, sounds like that dealer would bend you over with no kiss or reach around

Looks cool, yeah. But it's a toy compared to the busa. My friend bought a 1000rr and when I park my bike next to it, it blows it out of the water. In my humble opinion it's a little uncomfortable to ride: you're bent way forward with your knees in your face. Don't send the steak back for a Big Mac dude.

I totallly agree with what Revlis and Diesel are saying. In my opinion, I think the Busa is a better bike and anyway guys look hot riding BUSA'S ......NOT HONDA'S. The BUSA has a much better look to it and a lot of power. It's an amazing machine!! Please don't get rid of your BUSA!!!!!!!!!!!

The only bike rep bike that I've seen that has kept it's appeal over the years is the Telefonica Movistar (Suzuki GSXR). I agree with Rev (again...), that scheme will definitely play out.

I laughed when they offered me the low figure for the trade in, funny thing is that even with all the mods(New full Hindle,undertail,PC3usb,Galfer lines,Ebc pads,DBscreen,Corbin, frame sliders, polished frame) They'd only give me a $100. more than if it was stock. This is BlueRidge Powersports, it's how they operate.
I know better than to ever trade in a bike as you lose your ass. I'm gonna payoff my Busa then look for a mint used Repsol1000RR in a year or two or maybe even get a new/used ZX10 and paint it up. I've always liked the older Marlboro Red/White racing bike paint scheme where Marlboro is printed across the side.

Nice, but not worth the Busa trade. Sounds like the Sapranos run that joint if they'd only give you that for that quality of trade. You should chrome it out, then they'll give you an extra $100 towards the trade right. BAD BUSINESS!

Thats what you should do. Pay off the busa and make it a mostly track bike and then buy a liter bike for the street. You really should consider running the point system at the track this year anyway (or at Natural bridge since they only have 10 points races).

I need to find a damaged busa, make it a dedicated drag bike to promote my shop. That would be cool.

I WILL get the Repsol bike.............One day.

I want the best of both worlds. The busa does what it does well, just i want the Honda for the mountain roads i live around and for some trackdays. Honda has something with their bikes in the way their made, nicely put together, Great gearboxes and spot on handling.
The Busa handles pretty good, but i want better and something lighter for my mountain runs. The other side of the coin is i wouldn't feel right dragracing a 1000RR, i guess i could, but it wouldn't look as good as a slammed and strapped busa.

Like i said, my Busa is going nowhere, just getting paid off, ridden and drag raced.

I was about a heart beat away from having one myself. Awesome machine but I would have ended up taking it to the track so whats the point. You can never realize the potential of these bikes on the street. So it will be a dirt bike for me.
