8300 mi no problems......    and as an aside,  I work at a suzuki dealer... we sell dozens per year...  I've been there for years and never had a busa apart for second gear problems....  ever....  not even 1...  any year..  any color

'06 red/black with 13,500 and zero problems. I just switched to a synthetic blend. Shifting is smoother for sure.

FWIW, the mechanic I use is definitely biased against full synthetic for engines with roller bearings. Roller bearings have a tendency to "slide" versus "roll" which creates a flat spot/problems. This occurs because synthetic is too slippery.

Without roller bearing(s), he's "OK" with it only after fully breaking in the motor.

how bizarre! never heard of that... nobody at Suzuki apparantly has heard of it either.. since they recommend full synthetic for all their high performance engines... especially the roller bearing models... RM-Z.. LTR e.t.c

06 LE here. I had the second gear slipping at around 7000 miles. I originally thought it was my rear tire spinning which gave me a reason to put some sportec m3's on it. Still had problem. I took it to the dealer and they told me nothing wrong. Left dealer opened her up and still slipping turned back around back to dealer. After they tore the trans open and found a bend shift fork and worn gears. Funny thing is they also found a my clutch cover was cracked and the crack widened when they pulled in the clutch, which led them to believe that clutch wasn't fully disengaging and reassured me that Suzuki would/should fix all under warranty. So I signed paperwork to pay for repairs in the rare case that the warranty wouldn't cover it. Suzuki rep said no way would they cover it. The dealer doing the work said that it was bull but it was Suzuki Corp's call. So I purchased undercut trans from Orient Express, Factory Pro Shift kit, Ape Tool steel shift fork shaft and dealer put them in at no extra charge. Should be rock solid now. Now I have 10,000 miles on her and she shifts better than ever. I thought about taking Suzuki to court but probably will just forget about it unless there is a class action or something.
