08 Busa 6th Gear

It's going to plug inline with the GPS sensor (gear position sensor). Just trace the wire where it leaves the clutch cover at the top, at the end you'll find a connector that is probably connected to a little doodad...

A tre won’t stop you going into 6 th gear, but depending on type of tre will show 5 th. The healteck ( x tre) is the best . On start up will show what gear is tuned in, and shows all 6 gears while riding. Never had any trouble with mine.

The TRE improves part-throttle response in lower gears by eliminating the timing retard built into the OEM ECU in the first 3 gears ( to prevent wheelies and wheel spin by loweringf the power output, via retarded ignition timing) and also disables the speed limiter by telling the ECU 5th gear is selected, NOT 6th gear.

Thanks all! If the TRE fools the ECU so it want lock at out at 186 and it want stop 6th gear from being applied, being visible on guage, and not having a lazy ankle then I still have a problem with cant get 6th gear. Seems my issue is going to be in the trans. True?

Here you go.

What I thought to be the case . Shift shaft arm is in the wrong location . Currently you have the heim joint @ 11 Oclock . The arm should be @ near 1 Oclock . The shift arm is level with the foot peg , and this is to High limiting travel . The TOP of the gear shift lever should be 50 - 60 mm or 2" to 2.4 " lower than foot peg rubber high point . Most likely this was done after your chrome work .

Is this something I can fix myself? This appear all mechanically exterior; any special items to look for or that I could screw up?

Thank you C10/Mr.Brown and all for taking the time out and following through with the information and research. It was and is really helpful and probably saved me alot of money as well if I do it correctly.
