08 GSXR1K tail and new paint job

Great tail, and awesome paint job... but throw on an extended chain guard, don't want anything bad to happen...

Very nice. How low is the front? Looks really good but I'm not sure I would do the 1k tail.

Got this all done just in time for 70 deg weather. Going for a good ride today. Haven't been able to ride since last October, should be fun.

I know that this is a old post, but I hope to hear from you. I have a 04 busa and been looking at the 08 gxsr 1000 tail kits. Yours looks great!! An I see that all the oringal subframe of the gxsr 1000. Do you have any photo's from when you first started your mods?

what exhaust and rearset do you have? When I did my tail conversion I had to make a hanger bracket.

Props on the paint job

I know this is REAL old but does anybody have more info on what ABI did as far as modificatios to the subframe and seat? I just got an 08 1K tail section and was wondering what I'm in for

Can you please tell us what kind of mods is needed with the 1000 subframe? I am in the process of doing this as well and need all the help I can get.....Not the most polished tool in the tool box!

There are quite a few ways to go about this. I am in the process now of installing a K8 GSXR1000 tail section on my 2011. I am using a custom set of frame rails that I made using a Gen I subframe for the parts. It is not too difficult if you are mechanically inclined. Greggs Customs sells a kit for this for around $900 that includes a custom Corbin seat. You have to provide the K8 seat box and plastics. This is the more common way to go as it is almost a bolt on mod.

The way I did it I was able to modify and use the stock seat. I have just been painting mine this week and expect to have it ready for the road before too long. When I am all done I will start a thread on how I did it. If you are interested in more specifics you can PM me and I can tell you whatever you need to know. I built a jig for the rails so can duplicate them if you are interested.

I really like the paint you have chosen. Is that graphics on the primary color or paint?
