08 Tires

Now that the 08 has been out a short while and some of you lucky SOBs already have one I am curious how the tires are working out?
As I sit here waiting for the next Orange / Black 08 to show up at my dealers I am thinking about cooler temperatures, fresh tires and mondo power...how are the new skins hooking up?

They feel stable, I'm still in engine break in, so havent lit them up or anything yet. Suzuki says they were speced specifically for the 2008.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Good to know the traction is there. I have had other new bikes that required immediate tire swaps and was hoping for some good news.
Not one to drag or do burn outs but leaving a nice darkie on a corner exit brings a smile to my face

Mine drift a little on cool roads, when tires and road is warm they grip pretty good, I don't have full trust in them yet. It fishtails a lot in first and second, but first gear wheelies usually grab pretty good, so far banging second usually breaks the tire loose verse grabbin and wheeliing. If I get 2500 miles on the rear I'll be surprized.

They feel very well planted in most conditions so far. I only have 138 miles of mine so far, and they still slide around when they are cold. Once the warm up they hook up just fine. The rear tire will definitely wear out faster than the front if you whack the throttle often, which is the most entertaining function of a Busa. I have come very close to dragging pegs a few times, but I don't want to push then any harder until I have them scrubbed in more. I'm also going to switch to the BT-021 for front and back next spring so I might make it through one summer on a single tire change.

i just got mine , and all of my other busa's i have had and all my other gixxer i have had i always have had pilots on them and then i went to pilot powers when they came on the scene...im really impressed with the new battlax thats on the new busa, i believe it is bt105...not sure if changing tires or not...

A little squirrely at 38 P.S.I

I like the handling at the OEM recommended 42 P.S.I.

The dealer sent me on my merry way at @ 36 P.S.I. when I first picked up my bike. Cold tires, low pressure in both. All I could do was think about what a miserable handling bike it was. Got it home, and checked the tires, checked them again 3 hours later. 36 freakin' pounds! Lousy PDI, but that's a story for another time.

Yeah my front was at 38 and back at 42. Set them both at 42. Wonder if the dealer even checked?

I'm with you. I like the way the bike feels at the full 42 PSI. (They are very sticky at that PSI as well)

The question is do any of the online retailers have the BT015's in stock yet? I haven't seen them at any of the regular places and the BT015 has been around for a few years now.
