1/4 mile advice needed

i'm no racer but wouldn't going to the middle of nowhere and practice launching be a good idea? i told myself i would do that last summer just never got around to it... all i know i the more you practice the better you get... good luck...

world of difference between the staring line and any road anywhere in the country.. there is a lot of time and effort into prepping the track surface for the go fast crowd.. I am afraid all he is going to do is use up his bike and get no benefit..

where was this ET and MPH run? (density altitude please?)

The 50 lbs between you and your friend is a big deal..

to go fast you need power to weight ratio.. so more power, less weight or both :)

If you want to get the most out of your bike on the strip, buy an air shifter, and lower the piss outta it, and that's just for starters.
Going out in the country will help you familiarize yourself with the clutch/throttle relationship. Understand that the bike won't hook as well, but you will get more @ ease with controlling the process. You want off the clutch and wot as quickly as you can.
