I set my SpeedoHealer at -16% based upon checking the bike with radar. I went back to stock gears and set it at -6.8%. Doing some math, perhaps -16.4% would be better for the 16/42 gears.
To answer the question about the feel of the gears. The 16/42 gears felt great around town and buzzy on the freeway. But, they were too much gear for this old rider and I lofted my front wheel over and over again at the track with a basically stock bike. My buddy on the ZX-12R did not believe how bad it was and I wacked the throttle in 1st at 10 mph with the clutch out on the return road and the front end shot seriously into the sky. Big big difference in feel over the stock gearing. And, it felt buzzy at highway speeds, although I might have got used to it. I went back to the stock 17/40 gears and resumed running 10's. I ordered a 41T rear sprocket today which will put me just about at the rev limiter in 3rd at LACR and it will help a bit on the launch. I love bikes for racing already since gearing on a cage costs a bundle and I can just throw gears at the Busa for relative chump change. My best 1/4 so far was with 17/42 gears hitting the rev limiter about 50' before the end of the 1/4.
