2000 blue/silver coming

Hey Bimmerbusa! Thats the same helmet I have. Matches my 2000 Red/Gray perfect. It really looks good in person doesnt it? I waxed mine about a trillion times. Really sparkles and shines in the sun. Done anything to your bike?

Welcome LeeMI! Sorry I didnt welcome you in above post.I get all giddy when I talk about my Arai. Ive had five others including a Freddie Spencer Replica, but the way the Quint matches the red/gray busa is outa sight! Heck I like the helmet as much as the bike! Anyway, welcome and enjoy. There's lots of really nice people on this sight and if you ask for information you'll surley get it!

P.S. Lee,you should check out the helmet Boneman is talking about. Its bad to the bone man![no pun intended] If they made it in the colors of the Quantum F [Quint red/black/grey] I would have bought it in a heartbeat! The blue/black would look awsome with your new "BIRD". Later.

Next Tuesday in the morning I'm going to pick it up. Just trying to get my other bike sold over the weekend as I don't have the room in the garage for it. Wife would probably freak seeing two bikes in the garage but man, I haven't been able to sleep thinking about the bike! Anyone else go through this? It's like nervous anxiety or something. Just how bad is the stock clutch for someone who isn't drag racing?
Lee
P.S. My local dealer has no less than *5* ZX12R's both red and green, but no Busas...wonder why? haha...Gotta love this machine!!!

Lee, you wont have to do anything to the clutch, its great! The guys that mod their clutch are running them hard at the strip, hence the need for the mod. You will find the busa to be very docile and smooth. The engine is like a big electic motor. Instant on, instant off. Twist the throttle you go. Twist it a little more you go like, well you know what I mean.Let off you slow down. [Big engine, lots of engine braking.]You wont have a problem in the world riding this if you were riding a sportster. You just have to be sensible thats all. I would say the hardest thing to get used to for you will be the absolutly effortless way it gathers speed. I mean in any gear. It will be VERY easy to get a ticket. Anyway, sweet dreams, dude.

WARBIRD, I use polish on the quint Arai quantum/f helmet. Someone on this board recommended it and it work great. Its Mequiars Step 2 polish. The shine is amazing. I use the stuff on the bike also. Make the Red Glow like the paint is wet.....

The only things i have done is put a Valentine1 on with remote audio to the helmet, two bros titanium cans, pro gel sportbike grips, double bubble screen, pcii, and lowered the foot pegs. (first by cutting then by putting TL1000R pegs on.

Two riding buddies with blue busas, one broke his hip pulling wheelies, the other broke his wrist playing basketball. so much for busas x3 terrorizing the town.

Well picked up the bike yesterday evening around 7pm and had a 40 mile ride home. Aweseome. No other way to describe it. That clutch and transmission is like butter. That is the smoothest shifting I've ever had the pleasure of trying. Ride was incredibly comfy. I've never ever ever ridden a bike as effortlessly as this bike. And you literally can stop without putting your feet down it is so balanced, even under braking. Two questions:
1) What is the mileage range of the fuel tank
2)When I have it in neutral and turn it to *on* (not starting it) the "chec" is on but then when I pull in the clutch and start it it goes to the clock. Is that normal? If there was a FI problem, the "chec" would stay on, right? By the way, at the gas station filling it up, I went to start it to pull away and nothing..I didn't know you had to pull in the clutch to start it. Sales guy neglected to tell me that tidbit but I figured it out. Oh well..it's raining here today so I just get to stare and polish and pet my Blue Meanie. Thanks for all the help and safe riding.

Sorry to hear that your dealer did not ( ground school you ) we spend at least 20 mins. the check engine is normal
aswell as if thr kill switch is on the temp guage reads hot. I would go back to your dealer and tell them they should have ground scholled you so you were better imformed (it is your money)then I would read the owners manual.

LeeMI, get yourself a Service Manual and read up on the various codes that show up on the clock display if you have problems, but it looks like from your what you post that the bike is ok.Yes you have to pull in the clutch to start the bike, this is not like a Harley where you can start it in gear, kickstand down, clutch in and cause you and bike to go forward. It's a safety thing on the Suzuki bikes and most sport bikes. There's small micro switches on the kick stand and clutch lever area that is inline with the starting circuit and with all these safety links it will protect you from starting the bike in gear and you and bike going forward and crashing into something.Get yourself a Tank protector or bra to protect the area of the tank where your pants zipper or belt buckel might scratch the bike, don't get those small magnet patch that goes on the back of the tank they are useless get the half tank protector unit.Good Luck on your bike and ride safe.I still have my Harleys but will be selling both of them soon.

SHOEI RF-800 WARM GREY MATALLIC. MATCHES THE SILVER ALMOST PERFECTLY. I PREFER A SOLID COLOR HELMET (I DON'T WEAR PLAID WITH STRIPES FOR CLOTHING AND I AIN'T DOIN' THAT ON MY BIKE EITHER) AND WWW.HELMETSHOP.COM SELLS THEM FOR CHEAP! $219 + $8 S/H (NO TAX). THEY SAID THEY MIGHT BE RAISING THEIR PRICES LIKE $8 PER HELMET SOON ON THE RF-800'S, BUT STILL BEATS ANY OTHER PRICE I'VE SEEN.
