2004 busa - do i get it? what do you think

Hey all,

Posted a couple newbie questions here over the last week. Have a friend with a 2004 grey/blue Busa w/ 2700 mi. Just like brand new. Garaged, the whole deal. He wants $7500 for it. Only catch is I don't have a garage to keep it in 100% of the time. It will be in my apt parking lot chained to a telephone pole (covered) when I'm not using it.

I'm finding it hard to pull the trigger knowing it will be out in my pkg lot covered when it is raining. I'm somewhat concerned with the theft risk. (I can keep it in a friend's garage during the winter) Financially I will just be able to swing it by the skin of my teeth. Here in Jersey comp(theft) and liability will run me about $800/yr.

What do you all think - is this too good of a deal to pass up? What do you think the theft risk is? My complex is right next to the town police station.

I have to let this guy know by noon Thursday what I'm going to do.

Any constructive input is welcome.

wish i had a ground floor apt. I'm on the 2nd floor. That would be awesome to just walk into my front door and there is the bike!!

Honestly, it is a great deal, but if you have reservations don't do it! There will be other bikes available when you are in a better/different position.
