2008 BMW k1200s

i like it but too expensive for my wallet. :beerchug:

I just understand :banghead: the value in paying more for a bike that is less. Kinda makes me scratch my head on all beemers (and Harleys for that matter). Someone does the exact same thing much better for less $$

It costs more, it's heavier than a Gen 1 Busa, it's slower than a Gen 1 Busa...Not to mention a Gen 2 or a ZX 14.

Not a bad bike but sorely in need of a facelift.

hmm the one I ran with could run right along side the Busa down the highway... but the price tag? ouch... 2 Busa's or 1 BMW

I would ride anything in a pinch, might find out it is a lot more fun than it looks  (and I can vouch for at least one Bimmer owner :))

I liked the shaft drive and single sided swing arm. I was thinking you could change the rear sprocket for more top end speed but it wouldn't be that easy being shaft driven.

The beemer is a better bike it just cost too damn much.

How many miles do you have on one? I have quite a few. The beemer quality is hands down better than the zuk. It WILL run toe to toe with the busa and out turn it anyday. I love my busa, but that beemer is bad ass. If you underestimate it, it will bite you in the ass.

i smoked a 1200 right out from first gear up to 190mph.. he was eating my dust.. it was a 2006 beemer..
also an experienced track rider... @@

soo......................

(( that was a straight drag by the way... not curves.. i know what it can do in curves.. ! ))

All I know is that Doyle (DR1300R) was on the beemer, I was on my bike. Some people have told me I ride OK. I know Doyle can ride. We were toe to toe up to about 120.

It will last longer.Just because something is faster or has more HP doesn't make it better. My Honda VTX will run circles around the busa milage wise, but it's slow :banghead:

I got 26,000 on my '06 busa...I know IT quite well.

Went on a Demo ride in Daytona...about 30 minutes worth and it don't take long to know...I am not on a Busa period. It felt a good 20-30 horses light and of course nothing has the low end pull of the Bus.

Funny we all had this discussion a while back ago and shortly after in an issue of Superbike they compaired the 3, Busa, ZX14, and Beemer and they write...

"But for all that usefullness though it becomes QUICKLY clear in this test that the ageing beemer is being left behind..."

Exactly what I originally wrote, not a bad bike but needs to be updated. When it was just a gen 1 busa, it was not a bad 2nd alternative (Note 2nd )...now that the zx14 has come out...then been revised, and the new gen 2 busa...the beemer is just moving further back. Throw in a new blackbird and the beemer is now what...6th?

And that's without being the most expensive of the bunch by 1 1/2 times.

I will agree that it "feels" slower. It isnt as violent, if you say, as the busa. There is no fighting the front end coming up with the shaft drive. Its a really nice bike that is really quick is all I'm saying. Is it a busa. No. But what is. My cousin loves his. So do Doyle and I.
