2012 L2 Busa Throttle issue

Hi, I have a 2012 Busa with a bit of an issue !!
When you go 100% throttle in any gear it will only rev to 8500-9000 revs but if you back off the throttle by say 5-10% it will rev through to 11,000 rpm !!
It has a quick action throttle on it and new throttle cables.
It seems to be an intermittent problem and when it doesn’t have this issue it feels perfect !!
I’ve had the injectors flow tested and fuel filter/pump cleaned and all was ok.
I’ve checked the TPS and it was ok.
Any ideas ???

Just a quick update with regards my issue !!

Turns out the fuel filter inside the actual fuel pump was restricting the fuel to the injectors at high load causing it to go very lean at high revs 8500 - 9000. The filter is non serviceable so it was replaced with a low mileage complete fuel pump assembly and she's back to full power :))
All I need now is some sunshine and dry roads !!

All this work was done by Sean @ Big CC Racing, what a great bunch of guys they are.

Had a plumber here today installing a back up sump pump and we got to talking and I mentioned I had a Hayabusa...he and his partner got really excited and asked if they could see it...

When I took the cover off it one of them asked if they were all turbocharged...I kind of chuckled at that, I said "nope, that's something people do in the aftermarket" He said he thought they were all turbo'd as they are so fast...

Hi, Nice to meet you.

I am not good at English.
Please forgive me.

I am riding a 2008 model gsx1300r hayabusa.

I'm in the throttle issue as you.

Please tell me the solution.

Welcome to the forum @Busa Otoco.

What are the symptoms? Does it stop revving at a certain

Thank you for your message.

Hi, I have a 2008 Busa with a bit of an issue !!
2008 hayabusa CANADA model

When you go 100% throttle in any gear it will only rev to 6500-8000 revs but if you back off the throttle by say 5-10% it will rev through to 11,000 rpm !!

have a very thin air-fuel cost
The Secondary injector is not working.

99ps in six-speed gear full throttle.

Is there a limiter?

First of all welcome.....

You say the secondary injectors aren't working? They kick in higher in the rpm range so if they aren't working, there's your problem
You need to figure out why they aren't working

How many kms?
Has it sat for any length of time?
Is anything modified on the bike?

This is like going to the doctor and telling them that it hurts when you run......we need more info to diagnose what is wrong-as much as we can over the internet that is......

I am very happy.

I am using a translation function.
I'm sorry for my poor English.

Air and fuel costs are reduced only when full throttle is applied.
Close the throttle slightly to fully accelerate.

2008 Busa CANADA
ODO 15000 ㎞
I bought it secondhand in January 2024.
Engine power check performed successfully
6-SPEED GEAR FULL THROTTLE
99ps・6500rpm・a/f→very lean

Current ODO 19000km
Cowling Set→Gen 1
light set→gen 1
Regulator → FET of Yamaha

The water temperature of the meter is appropriate.
The gear indicator on the meter is appropriate.

The TPS is brand new.
TPS adjustment is OK.
STPS adjustment is OK.

IAPS is brand new.
APS is brand new.

Regulators have the same symptoms even if they are normal.
Regulators have the same symptoms in FETs.

The ECU has a spare.
The symptoms do not change even after the replacement.

So this is a gen 2 with gen 1 fairings......interesting.....

You mentioned your secondary injectors aren't working, they need to be working...

You can test them for fuel pressure and power.

If they check out and you have fuel pressure, depending on how much, you might need to address your fuel pump.

The second generation has better performance.
However, I like fairing of the first generation.

Fuel pressure was measured.
The fuel pressure is fine.

Is there a fuel cut limiter?

Speed sensor, engine rotation sensor, gear position sensor

Is there a fail-safe control when the throttle is full?

Only a top rev limiter.....if the ECU has been flashed that would have been removed....

I've heard of this before on this forum but can't find the thread.....

What is ecu flash?⁉︎
Please tell me in detail.

2nd gear · 8500 rpm? · 140km/h
3rd gear ·7000 rpm? ·150km/h
6 speed gear · 6500 rpm? · 180 km/h

Any gear has a problem when it is fully throttled.

Here is a video sort of explaining an ECU plash and tune...

I wonder if your bike has a restricted ECU and the second one you have is restricted as well.....I recall there are laws in Japan restricting power on bikes....
