2013 Busa Electrical Issues

How so? As far as it being better

The factory system is not designed to have much extra load put on it. By adding a second fuse box you are taking stress off the oem harness. Now it only has to support what it's designed to.

That's what I'm hoping is the case of course if it blows the fuse again. Then we know it's something else.

I've seen this before, if the plug in the back isn't secured then when your riding it then it will vibrate out. The only way that I know of that you can lose all lights and power to the cluster is through that connector and it has several different power points.

Going to ask them if they checked to see if the fuse blew then check behind the gauge cluster to make sure everything is secure

King,
I did't notice if this was actually verified or not, did you check the state of the gauge cluster plug?
I have ridden my bike without a cluster so yours may not actually be plugged in.

I have to check to be honest not sure. I will say when I sat on the bike n put the key in the ignition that's when the gauge when out so maybe a possibility of something moving idk

You chace electrical problems for a living, so I will ask you. Do you think that the cluster coming unplugged would cause the fuse to blow on the tail lights and turn signals? As far as know they are on different circuits? I think that he has multiple problems here. I think that the cluster came unplugged as do you and Cap. I also think that with the extra electrical mods he has on the bike that he is overloading the circuits. What do you think?

I agree, we have more than one problem.
An unplugged cluster as such will not bother anything else on the bike, especially not blow fuses.
The fuses blowing can certainly be resolved though. Let me actually read the fuses blowing problem carefully and I'll comment further.

Ok, after ready through carefully I am left with needing more info once you get the bike back in your possesion.
I say this because it sounds like the shop has your bike atm.

-I don't think one single fuse can take out the cluster and not bother anything else.
-The aux fuse box for your accessories is a very good move.
-It is true that HID ballasts are a big source of electrical noise and interference however I think you need to get a couple of other things checked first.
-You need to 100% verify that the cluster is plugged in.
- I think your other accessories will work fine once it gets connected to it's own source for power.

I think those were your two issues no?
Dead cluster and air ride and other accessories with the exception of the HID's) die after 10min of riding?

nosbig, you mentioned turn signals and tail lanps not working, was the OP having that issue too?

Update tech says he going to make a separate fuse box to run the LED lights, air ride and my halos. So the load won't be too much for the 10amp fuse.
Thats how it should have been done in the first place..

Thanks echobase. I'm gonna pass that info fwd. sounds like a very good plan to move on.

And yes the main fuse controlling the gauge cluster blew first. I then rode to the shop and maybe a good 30 minute ride the air ride as well as LeD lights did not work after shutting bike off from riding. And your correct the HID still works. Then discovered the air ride and LED work the next morning after sitting for a few hours perfectly fine after the bike had been sitting in the shop over night as well as HID still working normal. But gauge cluster not working still. :banghead:

Update. We think the aftermarket tag bracket is the colpret shook the wires a few times and the tag hid screw bolts were shorting. BUT the fuse did not blow.

Pinched wire near brake housing. This was causing my headaches
