2022 Hayabusa now sold out in Canada.

The Suzuki dealer in town (for whom I worked, full disclosure) delivered two black ones last month... the next closest dealer about 1.5 hours north has two unsold in their showroom, one black/gold and one silver/red.

Needless to say I'm avoiding that store so I don't get tempted. Not that I have $22,399 (Canadian) burning a hole in my pocket anyway...

I went to a Suzuki shop in Ottawa and they were still awaiting their order of 2 bikes...both not pre-sold. The manager there said Hayabusas are a tough sell...he had a couple brand new left over 2019s he couldn't sell and shipped them to auction just to get them off his inventory so he could get the new ones...

Who forced the manager to order them?

In Canada, the price is high and the taxes are high; there are no free goodies like jackets and plaques, NO WHITE MODEL, no free service, only a 1 year warranty and no demo bikes.

Parts are hard to come by; accessories are unavailable and can only be purchased from other countries; the service manual is $224 after tax.

Any issue moving inventory is a problem Suzuki Canada created when you consider all of the above.

I got on the wait list back in May having missed the Feb introduction because I wasn’t paying attention. I haven’t received any emails from Suzuki.ca about my position or availability.

Lucky, I had a good relationship with my dealer and managed to snag one in June when they took delivery.

However, when a new model comes out, Suzuki Canada wants to see it represented in dealerships....I would say the word "advised to order them verses forced"

Add all your points in and add a very short riding season and crappy roads with high insurance rates and the answer as to why they sit is evident.

He said there were a few bike models moving pretty well, V Stroms and GSX S and F are moving along pretty well....he has a hard time moving the latest Katana-he was trying to sell me on a black one pretty hard but I'm not in the market for a new bike...The shop is a big one and you could play volleyball in the showroom without having to move many bikes....much like all the other bike shops I visited..

Sounds like Motorsports World's new location. They've certainly stepped way up from the closet showroom they used to have.

"Every dealership is required and expected to stock and maintain Suzuki’s full line of motorcycles, ATVs, and scooters."

This is one of the more punishing aspects of owning a dealership: One must stock up on vehicles which they may know that they will never sell.
Seems like different rules here in BC. No Victoria-based Suzuki dealer ever sold ATVs as far back as I can remember, and they only brought in bikes for stock that they were confident in selling. Of course they got bit on the new Katana as demand just hasn't appeared as they'd expected/hoped. I bought one but that hardly sold the model out for the whole area. ;)

Hayabusas have been order-only forever as they're total showroom queens.... I blame high insurance and a concentration of tight, twisty roads here, but the glut of 200hp litre bikes of late likely didn't help sales of the Phat Bus either. The fact that there are four Gen3s floating around here already does show that perhaps all that was required to move the metal was a fresh makeover though.

It's on Clyde Ave...pretty decent dealership...

I remember when it was the "hole in the wall" dealership before..

Thankfully in those days we had a Suzuki dealership here in the valley and the owner's son and I raced GSXRs...we were both sponsored by Suzuki.

Yeah, it used to be a Canadian Tire. Big building.

My 2022 finally arrived. I had not even seen one prior to ordering and it is definitely aggressive in its riding position but I'm willing to attempt to tame it :) Dealer is now outfitting it with all of the Suzuki Farkles I ordered for it now. Then she'll go into the corner covered awaiting delivery once the snow is gone. Excited to turn the first few miles on this puppy! Black and Gold, simply amazing bike. Yes insurance is expensive, 2200 / year and thats a 60+ year old with zero tickets ever rider! But honestly it just does not matter, it's the entire experience!
