Without even knowing what it is, I'll say it's a $19.99 shunt. A shunt that gives a great placebo effect for really stupid people.

In fact when it first sold on ebay, it said 8-10hp, about a year ago. Same 425B chip that just plugs into the airbox air intake sensor on the left side of the air box.

Yeah after a year the HP will be increase..its just like fine wine gets better with age.

Bought one not worth the little money, alll it did was leave the FI light on. Don`t buy it
Why would you buy something like this? And then install it on your bike? You're lucky the your bike didn't burn to the ground! I've never heard of this chip nor has anyone I know. You may want to ask around on the board if you're not sure.
 
Well, I think that post is sorta right. From what I've heard, the stock ECM limits the HP in the first few gears to 100hp. By putting in a TRE you remove this limitation. That yellow "chip" is a standard resistor chip with a 5th gear resistor in it.

So, ya, they're selling you a resistor for $20. And technically, in first gear, that will probably boost you 43 hp.

It's just a resistor TRE.
