Well, I think that post is sorta right.  From what I've heard, the stock ECM limits the HP in the first few gears to 100hp.  By putting in a TRE you remove this limitation.  That yellow "chip" is a standard resistor chip with a 5th gear resistor in it.

So, ya, they're selling you a resistor for $20.  And technically, in first gear, that will probably boost you 43 hp.

It's just a resistor TRE.

only in some countries in europe are the bikes limited to 100hp, for the most part they are not, and i dont think what is being sold on ebay is even a tre....

Wow - that's a big box for such a small chip - Maybe the bigger the box, the more HP gain, probably something to do with volume of air and electric current mixture. My suggestion, stick to whats been proven. I'd hate to buy a $20 chip that ends up costing hundreds in repairs.

The box is not that big, about the same size as the chip. It`s about 3 inches by 1 1/2 inches. Don`t buy it.
