Just looking for some inputs before I complete this installation.I just completed the entire bottom end with new bearings, after a full season of over 225 1/8 mile passes & 40 1/4 mile runs. I wanted just a little more power and have a fresh bullet for next season.I will also be running up to a 40 shot from time to time. Mostly, any issues specific to running this set-uo day to day plus racing every weekend.  Thanks for any info. & comments on this.

That is what I hope to put in mine this winter along with a set of camshafts.

Thanks for the reply, what kind of gains are you expecting? Also,I see that you've run a stock swingarm, how are your 60ft times? From day one at the strip,I've ran between 4-8 over on my swingarm with a best 60 of 1.52.

Not sure, but I'll be touching the heads slightly if I do it. Check out this link.Link

My 60's are now in the 1.65-1.67s. A best of 1.62. I plan on trying to get them down a bit. Hopefully 1.57-1.59 and still keep the current consitancy. I may have to loose some weight to get it done! lol

Thanks abunch for that link,I know there are alot of varibles, but that is some realy good numbers to give me an idea what to expect. I asked about your 60ft times because every time I finish a stock wheelbase busa and take it out for test rides,I realize/remember how good they handle. I want to switch back to stock but wasn't sure how much I'd give up on the launch. Again, Many Thanks, John

Same reason I have not put an arm on mine. I'm actually thing about a 60" arm next year. I'll need it if I add a bit of HP.

Professor, do you intend to use studs on your top end? Are studs a "must do",besides rising the compression,I'll also be spraying up to a 40 shot,as you read before? And what about studding the mains, overkill? This is also my street bike too, but at the strip, it's WOT every pass. Mine has about 4100 on the clock, all bullet proof miles & I don't want to lose reliability but I don't have a huge budget either. I want every dollar to do the most,as we all do. All other opinions welcome too!!
Professor, I'm just north of KC,MO.,at some point next season I hope to make it OKC. to make a race or two. I'll be sure to try to look you up at the track/

I don't think studs are necessary at these levels. I don't intend to put them in mine unless advised otherwise.

Be sure to let me know if you are coming this way. They are a few guys that have been coming from Missouri.

Sounds good, I didn't want to get good at changing head gaskets, other than for adding more ponies. I've seen and read that down your way, theres alot bigger group of racers which always means stiffer competition. At my local 1/8th mile,a big nite for bikes was about 20-25,which was part of the regular Sat. nite program. KCIR (1/4) always had a fair turnout w/30-40 if your lucky, also with little or no return on pay outs.Theres only 2 or 3 big events at KCIR (07 National bikers Round-up,Soul Brothers annual Drag Race) so other than those two this past season, nothing to get excited about. I look forward to racing down your way, maybe also meeting you & the others from MO.

We usually have between 110-140 bikes. I run Street E/T and Pro E/T and see anywhere from 30-35 in Street and 20-25 in Pro. The 9.50 Super Street index class is rerally picking up usually having 15-18 entries.

If you can swing it, the Finals are this weekend. The weather is projected to be great. Cap is having a get together and there are quite a few members coming from all over the area.

Drive in and check it out if nothing else.

I wish, I wish, I wish, but can't make that happen.Definetly what I'm looking for though, with numbers like that I'll be putting in alot of windshield time in on 35/44 next season for sure.I hope you have the best of luck & all safe passes for this weekend. Just one more thing, any advice on break-in?
