You are totally right! Its just that they need to be modified so much to look better! :-)

There's nothing more hideous to me than a Gen 2 tail section with the stock mufflers. You have to put an aftermarket exhaust on it....if only for looks. The turn signal housings look like an afterthought design and they definitely could have integrated them them into the tail section better.
I had a Gen 2 but sold it and went back to a Gen 1. I never got used to the look of it even with a Yosh R77 on it. More top end power, less vibes, better handling and suspension but the seat and the reach to the bars not as comfortable, slower throttle response down low which made it not as much fun to ride as the original.
Its my fifth Gen 1 so maybe I'm just spoiled for the feel of the original. You ride what you like and with what makes you happiest.
