A-TECH AIRBOX NEW 10-20 ps

I sent em an E mail just asking for an explanation, will post "if" they reply

While we(the US)rate a motors power in horsepower, other countries use "PS".While I know the ratio is not 1:1,it's not that far off.I am going off memory,so if someone knows for sure, please advise.

Your dead on the money wronglane, the japanese specs all show our HP as PS.
Now as far as this box goes its like anything else, lets see some hard data earned from hard testing.
My guess is it will not exceed the performance of MH's creation.
If it does of course I'll buy it.

It's not stock, KawAbuser had a hand in the design of this box.

Long stacks in middle, shorts on the ends...

The carbon fiber unit is pretty trick.

I have to agree that all of their stuff is a bit high priced, but from what I'be seen, it's very high quality. Direct bolt-on replacements with no drillng or fiddling.

I am actually looking at most of the bodywork myslef... :)

Must change my name to "Carbon man", more hp or not, I would buy one. I doubt that I ever have the chance :(

Just saw a copy of an old dynojet pep software that listed PS, I'll see if I can get Mike to tell me the differences.

i ran my 2000 on the dyno and only got 1.5 hp with no airbox and the tank totally lifted.i thought that was'nt bad for restriction.i say split the box i half.add a 3/4 spacer and remove the under tank foam to make the room.or hell space the tank bolts up a little in the front if tyou wanna make it bigger still.

Hey Motor, My wifes 86 GSXR 750 ran really well with the stock airbox modded and GSXR 1100 carbs stuck in there. You couldnt tell the difference between the 31's and the 34's from looking at the outside of the carb bodys. Poor guys never new what hit em. Wife weighs 105 pounds. One tooth down and an Avon blue dot with stock exhaust and she would wax guys with the same bike with a V&H pipe and improperly set up jet kits! It was a real gas. Boy, sounds funny saying carb sizes like 31 and 34mm dont it? They would fall right through a set of 750 carbs now huh?

MOTORHEAD,
Have you ever thought of patenting the design? It seems like someone took a long hard look at your box and decided to mass produce it.

A provisional patent costs about $75 bucks and will get you one year and protection.

Then after one year you must go for the real one.......

I would check into it.........

$500-600.00 Seems just a little steep for a stock looking airbox!!! Correct me if I'm wrong but this box looks 100% identical to Motorheads airbox?!?!?!

why? i see the new gsxr750 changed to a similar design.i'm sure all of us people that did these on the 750s back in like 86 would have done it had we rather just let everyone enjoy the power benefits.

Hey Motorhead, get back on my offer<smile> I'll get it ordered up and send it on to you. You can invest half, dyno and check it every which way, and if it does increase the HP that much you can incorporate whatever you find out into your box mod. The real plus now is that carbon man wants the look even if it doesn't deliver as claimed. I'll keep it after your done with it if it is for real and let carbon man in on the findings. We all can be winners......
