Advice needed - worth modifying to improve comfort

Ps how does the ZX 14 body position compare to the Hyabusa, similar ?
This is a Gen 2 Hayabusa verses a Gen 2 ZX14R
The Gen 3 Hayabusa is slightly different than the Gen 2

ask @Kiwi Rider if u can join him and his workshop to eventually have a test sit on his busa.

if i remeber correctely he has a suberbike handlebar mounted.

only that way u can get a feeling , what a h-bar change can cause .
Frank, I have ordered my ABM top yoke , brake and clutch hoses and handlebar kit from the UK.
It should arrive in a couple weeks, so I'm really excited about that!
I'm going to lower the front a little and leave the rear ride height the same initially, maybe get the rear raised a little according to your advice after that.
If @Blitzbok is in my local area he is welcome to come visit me and try out my bike's riding position once the yoke and bars are installed.

hi gregg

what about counting the hours you as a professional need for the entire job .

entire job , means 4 me :
from the 1st moment ur bike goes onto the bench till the last moment it leaves it again ready 4 the 1st trip on the road?

I estimate you will need around 5-6 hours in total .

some pics would be helpfull - i guess. ;-)

and?
how high was the invoice/bill including shipping?

what did u pay f. the 2 loooong steel embraideds or did u only order one, 2nd, long 4 the left sided caliper (to eliminate the f...ckin fender crossing hose) ?
never tried / measured but the hose 4 the ricght side may still fit together with the (longer) bar - i guess .

I paid NZD$547.00 incl shipping so not to bad at all…
The kit described in the link above comes complete with brake and clutch hoses and mirror extender blocks, also ignition lock mounting hardware.
No handlebars included, but I’ve bout a set of renthal bars that will be perfect height and bends.
I’m hoping it’s a pair of longer brake hoses, NOT the ‘f…ckin’ over the fender type lmao.

the superbike handlebar I recommend is the one from LSL type A01 in alu, silver .
by me been installed dozens of times - always with the best results
here its values in millimeters !

and sorry - you're hoping wrong - I 99.9% save think you'll find the ‘f…ckin’ over the fender type in the package.
all sellers of sets ignore the chance to sell 2 loooong hoses and grab "only in the basket" - they are just salespeople and have no idea about applied technology !!!

to the yoke and its bar clamps one more thing - please note this page of mine and the drawings for "version 2" - you should know this, but I still think it is urgently worth mentioning.

I have been down the comfort rabbit hole, having owned a touring, a cruiser, and then going back to sport bikes. Let my lesson save you money and time. Ask yourself 2 questions and be humbly honest with yourself. What kind of riding do I want to do? Do I have to reinvent the bike just to fit my needs? Sit on many different bikes and really pay attention to how things feel for you. In AZ there are places you can actually rent motorcycles and some dealers allow you to ride them. That way an informed choice will yield much more happiness rather than trying to settle for what you have and make it marginally better.

I bought a 2014 Triumph Trophy that had issues with the head and it would never run right. Outside of the running issues and sick of spending money on it. I felt that the Electronic suspension on all settings was either way too soft or way to hard. I also felt that sitting that high up in the bike just made handling weird and no matter how hard i tried and practiced it didnt work for me. I also did not like having all of that wind protection, because in AZ things got very hot quickly on there and blew around like crazy in the wind. After that I was able to trade in straight up for a 2015 Triumph Rocket X without going upside down with a similar payment.

The Triumph rocket 3 was great and was great 2 up with my son. It handles like a pig and was much more enjoyable to ride. But, in the mountains and curvy roads it was very lacking. Yes it was stable, quick, and for what it was surprisingly good brakes. The engine on these bikes are bullet proof if you don't race them. But, tire options are nill because of the weird sizes and were VERY expensive. Plus parts for them are nonexistent if you wanted to mod them. Through my divorce I was forced to sell my house so I paid this bike off and bought my Busa in Cash.

My Hayabusa and VFR have similar mods and have been my favorite bikes thus far in terms of the 2 questions I have above.
With Hyper Pro springs front and back they handle amazing while being compliant. I have 250 lbs and I right with my 9 year old son a lot
with no issues. But, these 2 bikes were my only good choices I made as I went to the extremes of things to find that out.

So take it from my lesson if you are brutally honest on how you want to ride you will make the most cost effective decision.

As you can read on many threads on all generations of Hayabusa, comfort mods are varied but each and every generation is subject to them...

There are countless threads on seats, pegs, bars (risers and other), luggage, windshields, etc to make the bike better for touring......

It's interesting that Kawasaki is far ahead of Suzuki in this regard.....they took the original 1000 Ninja and turned it into a Concours-same with the ZX14......

Suzuki could have made the Hayabusa into a "Concours" type of bike very easily and it would have been a far better bike than the Concours.....

Thanks for all the valuable info you have linked to your homepage, much appreciated Frank!
Here’s pics of the Renthal bars I have for my new top yoke. . .
Renthal 754 road bike low bars
They’re 755mm in width

well
a mm more or less in length or hight doesn´t matter

turn only the bar frontwards til there is 1 mm left to the screen .

and keep the gap between masters and switsches that the screen can "dive" into there .

Clear / sure - if a fart gets stuck, it massively limits comfort - loooooooooooooool
Berlin lol
It works like the channel you see in bike seats, but more pronounced. It takes pressure off the cheeks and doesn't choke off blood flow to the tree and apples. I like it more than the corbin because it has some give to it instead of being a hard contoured shape.

I would love if Suzuki built a sport touring bike around the Hayabusa engine and it wouldn't be all that difficult either, just add handlebars, lowered pegs, taller windscreen and factory panniers which is what a lot of buyers are already doing and instantly you'd have one of the best sport touring bikes on the planet.

Suzuki tried with the GSX GT....not sure how it is selling though....

The GSX-GT is a nice bike for sure but it's not built around the Hayabusa engine :-(

If it were I would have been the first one in line to buy one but with only 135HP it just doesn't have anywhere near the performance of the Hayabusa.

It was based on the 2005 GSXR which was arguably the best GSXR made....

But was choked out beyond recognition and like the Gen 3 had different cams put in it.
