After two weeks how attached would you be?

You know I am a firm believer of "All things happen for a reason" Yes, I am sure you are asking yourself this question after hundreds of dollars spent on a dog you only had for 2 weeks.
We all view animals differently. IMO when you adopt an animal its like adopting a child. You do what you have to do to take care of it. I guess thats why most that have pets love them as they were children.
Pets become a family member. I am sure you are upset at the money being spent on a new puppy, but years down the road when we ask you "Are you glad you didnt take the other choice with your dog" you will be happy and the guys here will still be proud.

If the engine blew on the Busa and cost 2K for a new one, wouldnt you find a way to scrape up the money?

We just fostered/adopted a cat who was brought into the vet clinic with a broken leg. Literally broken in HALF. THe way this thing was flopping around was enough to churn your stomach.....

We chose the splint method as well, as we were not going to spend tons of money for pins and screws. Six weeks later, and you would never know he had a broken leg. That cat runs around like nobodies business. If you run your fingers down the bone, you can feel where it actually overlaps! But it healed strong.

Keep the dog kenneled and try to limit the playing, walking, etc for as long as you can......

Dogs are like children. You will never...ever regret the small amount of money you chose to spend to keep that pup in your life. $hit happens and always at the most inopportune time, yet, it's how you respond to these situations that proves who you are as a person. Anyone can have a pet, not everyone can raise a puppy. Cheers bud!

Happy to know you made the right choice. As others have said it is definetely money well spent. There is lots of joy ahead. I would do that for Biggz too:)

i had an 8 week old, fullblooded, papered, english bulldog given to me about 2 years ago. i have spent probably $1500-2000 on this dude in medical bills since i got him. but what are you going to do he's like a kid to me.

You did the right thing blanca and I had no doubt when I saw you post that you would. I have spent a ton of $ on my 11 year old dog Pepper the last month or so. He is having hip problems. He may need an expensive operation, and if he needs it, I'll make sure it happens even if it means selling the busa to pay for it.

No $$ amount can be put on total love and devotion. That is what you will be repaid with and a wealthy man for it! Good on you Sir!!

ummmm..... sorry saiid.... hope everything goes well...

She's such a good dog. I brought her home last night around 5-6 and put her in the crate like dr said.
She stayed there pretty much all night. Cried a bit around 3. I got up and held her for about an hour or so and put her back in the crate. I took her out and held up to see if she would pee but it was too painful for both of us. Difficult to see thru all my guilt ridden tears. So I put her back in the crate and gave her another dose of pain meds. Woke up this morning around ten and took her out of crate. Put her out in grass and held her again and she let loose. Thank goodness. It was almost a whole day that she didn't do anything. So after she peed I picked her up and she peed all over me while holding her. Oh well. Now the patient is back in her crate resting. It's gonna be a long recovery. I don't know how I'm gonna work it out? Wife leaves on the 14th for two weeks to go see family in cuba. I gotta work. Glad I live less than ten minutes from work cuz in going to be doing a lot of running back and forth.

Here is an idea, I know its a rabbit but I am sure you can make one a little bigger for Coco. A few bucks worth of PVC tube from Home depot and 2 wheels and you are set. I am sure it would be easier for the pup.

Cast is gonna be on for ten days. Then I go get it changed to a splint.
Until then she's really supposed to stay in her crate immobile so leg can properly set.

I thought about making something like that but in no maguyver so I think I'll pass.

I knew you wouldn't give that pup up, Saiid. You are a good man! I'm proud of you!

Your dog will heal up and do just fine. Like I said before, my toy poodle healed up from a broken leg and lasted just under 17 years and made the best friend one could ever ask for!

After seeing that pic I dont think there was ever a decision to be made, Very cute dog.

Rescued a 2yr old dog once from a family that was going to put her down because there kids moved out and they didnt have time for her anymore, As I took the dog to the truck I turned around and said I hope you dont run out of time for your kids.

2 days later the dog darted out the door and got hit by a car, $1500.00 later we brought the dog home and helped her recover, 2 weeks after she was healed she dug under the fence and ran away!

This is her cousin 'Tiny' which is my cousins dog, mix pit looking thing.
Could not be a nicer dog. I've got pics of her licking Adam when he was a baby. We tied her up to his radio flyer wagon and let her pull him around the park. Well anyway I was more worried about how she'd react to coco than anything else. So after an hour or so of running and playing in the back yard we went inside and I let my guard down only for a second. :(

The cast while tough and seemingly excellent in form and fit appears to be a bit too long?
She can't even stand on it if she wanted to due to its length. I'm having a really difficult time getting her to pee. I hold her up and broke leg out a bit so she can balance and not much comes out. She's obviously and audibly in pain from the attempt. Soon as I pick her up and cradle her my belly gets real warm.
She pees all over me. So I've been carrying a towel over my shoulder and on my chest to soak it up cuz I'm running out of clothes!!!! No poop for more than a day but I'm sure it's in there  Just hope she explodes outside and doesn't get too much on herself :please:

Just remember the love you will get from her will be well worth it in the end. Its had to match the love of a good dog. I am glad she is going to be OK

You made the right decision sir. Look at her face how could you say no to that face.

Did they give you any medication to sedate her?

They gave me four syringes precharged with pain med. it's supposed to be given every twelve hours. So two days worth. I put it in her mouth not inject it.
