Aftermarket Air Filters

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I'm new to the boards and didn't see a posting about this. I'm on the fence on what air filter to get for my 08 Busa K&N or BMC Racing? They are about the same cost I think BMC is a little more expensive. Anyone know wich is better? I ran K&N in my last bike, but alot of the parts guys I've talked to are recommending BMC Racing. Is there even a big difference between the two? Sorry if this is a repost!

BMC is better than stock

BMC filters are more expensive then K&N, and from Ivan's performance there is no difference in power between after market and OEM filters on the dyno.

Don't think either are out yet, so I went with DNA. More expensive, but available. I wouldn't say OEM is just as good, the cloth material flows better than paper, + the aftermarket has more surface area also(at least on the DNA).

how is an oil soaked cloth filter better than a dry paper one?

K&N Facts
Here's an article from K&N that explains it. I guess you could also put a paper sack over your head and try and breathe through it vs. putting a shirt over your head and doing the same.

Put a BMC on mine and was happy with the results

It's best to improve the breathing at both ends and adjust the fuel to match for ultimate results tho. In other words exhaust/filter/pc for the real grins.....
