what is it?how do i do it? and does it help
because you can flow more air, and its a bit higher than 2k rpm. But your exhaust and fuel needs to be able to match the incoming flow or you lose power in areas of the powerband hence way I say leave it alone normally.Flap opens at 2k rpm any way...why bother?
honestly? I have never seen specs where guys flowbenched the box at various stages to know for sure. How much more air by chopping up the box?
Ok, 2200 rpms...I verifed it...
okay...I knew it was between 2-3k rpms. I figured it was closer to 3 than that...but okay...I trust ya. A few hundred rpms won't matter anyway.Raise your tank and rev...
that's what I used for mine. Then sanded any doo-doo spots and again applied some soldering heat to melt/smooth things out.easiest and cleanest way to cut your airbox is with a modified soldering iron.
depends if you use a pencil or a gun. I use a pencil type (cheapo $3 Harbor freight unit) and make an angled blade looking tip. Doesn't smell all that great but does a very nice job.that's what I used for mine. +1When I did the small box mod, it almost felt like the bike was more responsive and smother at idle.
Its not more responsive, and it got "smoother" because it got richer thus lost power. When I did the small box mod, it almost felt like the bike was more responsive and smother at idle.
thats why you need the pc3 and proper map ..Its not more responsive, and it got "smoother" because it got richer thus lost power. When I did the small box mod, it almost felt like the bike was more responsive and smother at idle.
How did it get richer if you are letting more air in?
Answer, because at low RPMs/speeds the air isn't being moved as it would at high speeds through those small RAM air tubes. When it does, the turbulence sort of chokes your box. This is overcomed as speed/RPM increases.
couldn't agree with ya more.thats why you need the pc3 and proper map ..Its not more responsive, and it got "smoother" because it got richer thus lost power. When I did the small box mod, it almost felt like the bike was more responsive and smother at idle.
