Akrapovic +airbox mod =168hp

Who makes the "best" turbo for the Busa? Any one using one on the street? They have some real advantages...I thought that maybe with a name like Turbo Rick you might be keen on this sort of thing...I saw some super sano set ups on Black Birds in the rags and wondered if any one had somthing like that for the Busa...you couldn't even tell the 'Bird was blown! I bet a huffed Busa mill would pump up to dam close to 300 hp be for it blew up...any one fooled around with that sort of thing?

RICK HOW MANY MILES DO YOU HAVE ON YOUR BUSA ? ABOUT HOW LONG DID IT TAKE THEM TO GET TO THAT FIGURE AND HOW MANY RUNS ON THE DYNO. BURT

Oh one more thing the bike had top speed gearing 18-38 and was doing 190 in forth gear on the dyno. this could be eating some HP. We will test and see.

How fast is the stock gearing in forth at redline.

156 is wrong -161(jeff) is right

I compared Rick's dyno jet with graph of "stock with air box mods" to mine at dynojet the day before, same dyno same operator ...
@ 5000 rpms ... stock = + 7 hp ...
@ 6000 rpms .... stock = + 3 hp ...
@ 7000 rpms .... stock = (- 2) hp ...
@ 8000 rpms .... stock = (-11) hp ...
@ 9000 rpms .... stock = (- 8) hp ...
@10000 rpms .... stock = (- 3) hp ...

CONCLUSION:

Stock air box and air filter ...

outperforms "mods" from 5 to 7000 rpms ...

"mods" blast an average 9.5 hp more than stock between 8 & 9000 rpms

only 3 hp more by 10000 rpms, but look out between 8-9000 the mods work ...

HOWEVER ...

MOST STREET RIDING IS 3 TO 7000 RPMS AND THIS IS WHERE THE STOCK OUT-PERFORMS THE "MODS" ????

AQUADIOSMED,

Would you have your final/best dynorun(s) available in electronic form for use with Dynojet's PepView software at home??

Just wondering as I'd like to do my own comparisons.

It looks like I screwed up with the correction factors and it didn't do 168HP it did 166HP the correct graphs are up at.

Upon inspection the air filter was very dirty ( all thoses dry lake bed runs ) and the chain has a tight spot that is the reason for the rough graph so I put a new chain and sprockets on. I am checking everything over like I should have done before I went to Dynojet and will put it on the dyno again this weekend.

I have a great little program called "redline" that provides all info on gear changes that you could ever want (even gives piston travel in ft/min), mph in each gear at different rpm ranges, etc.

If anyone wants this shareware program let me know and I'll put a link up on my web site.

Rick, something is bothering me about your dyno sheets. You show SAE horsepower being 168, but the dyno sheets I saw while doing an article at Dynojet today clearly showed 165, with no increase for the airbox. How is that?

ANIMAL:

Dyno Jet would not even let me watch ... I have no idea how many runs they did ... and I have nothing ... you might ask Mike Belcher at D-J ... he has all the facts ...
