I just wanted to forward this email I got from my best friends and to ask the org. to pray for all our Alaska members also.
thank you all in advance as I know you will have them in your prayers.

WE WILL DEFINATELY have major fallout. we're only 40 miles away. we're all on high alert - since i work for the Borough, i get regular updates throughout the day and will be called at night, should it erupt at night. we are not to go to work, or stay at work when this happens. we are armed with goggles, masks, etc...and we've all stock piled extra food, water, etc. the worst that can happen is the power will fail and pipes, people, etc. will freeze. Actually, once the volcano blows they actually shut down the power to avoid damage, just need to hope and pray it goes up again within a reasonable time. we have the wood stove, but that won't help the pipes. HOPEFULLY you're continuing to turn off and drain the water pipes in the mountains every week!! Since I've been here, I've learned the ash is not like fireplace ash, it is like little pieces of glass and will destroy almost all that it touches, including windows, windshields, etc...it is very fine and easily sucked up into mechanical things. Animals die from it when they breath it into their lungs. It's wicked. Look it up. it was a real learning experience to me.
It is now borough mandated that we cover all our electronic machines before leaving the office every night because the ash creeps through the smallest cracks. We've had training for how to close down the big pool pumps and get the people evacuated should it blow during work hours. I'm a little worried about getting home before the blackout falls, since I'm about a 1 hour drive away still. Hey - Thanks for Asking!!
