New Kawaski Ninja 14: Same old Busa, New boreing colors. When I first heard about the New Kaw 14 I was excited about Kawasaki finally stepping up and taking claim to their crown because I knew (or at least I though I knew) that would facilitate an improvement to the Busa by Suzu. When all of the reports and numbers were finally confirmed and came in. I was amazed how brutally it defamed the Busa. My excitement was less for Kawi and more for the anticipation of what the new Busa would have in the waiting. So for months, weeks, days, hours and even seconds, I impatiantly waited for the release of the New 2007 Busa. I cannot today still believe I was able to contain myself until it's release! Since the busa has justifiably went virtually unchanged since it's debut in 1999, I was certain that it would quickly respond to Kawasakis challenge. I mean actually I love the cosmetic design of the Busa. The only changes I really wanted made was for a more powerful and ferocious motor, an updated tachometer, speedometer, odometer and maybe blinker side-view mirrors. Other than that...nothing. And I was really afraid when I started seeing the potential models of the Busa lurking around on the net, that looked like a space-alien GSXR1000. So finally when the new 2007 Busa was debuted on Suzukis official website I was blown away with heartbreak and disappoinment. The same old busa with ugly arse new colors!!! They treat us like kids, by limiting us to choose between 2 or 3 colors at a time! They need more variety in thier color options. But that wasn't really what had me lossed for wods. It was the fact that they didn't changed the motor. In which the motor is the heart of the Busa and is what gives it it's notariety. The monster powerplant that propells the machine from 0-100 faster than 99% of cars can get to 60! But now the motor isn't the fastest out there anymore. Kawasaki has came and raped its title away. At first I thought I was an Suzuki addict but now I realize that I wasn't an Suzuki or an busa addict. I was just an addict of power and speed. I just wanted to posses the most powerful machine out there. And I dismissed the idea of ever going over and getting the new Kawi. But now since Suzuki wants us to wait all the way until 2008 and see if they finally change the 7 year old Busa is just too long of a wait for me. So now i'm seriously entertaining the idea of that new Kawi. I didn't get it this year because I though Suzuki was coming out with a new Busa in '07 but since that didn't happen. I don't want to wait almost 2 years to "maybe" have a new Busa. I need to be the fastest and the best on the street. And right now Kawasaki is the only manufactuer to offer me that prestige. Believe me the last thing I want to do is buy a stinking Kawi. I've invested so much time, energy and money into the whole Busa thing. If you walk into my apartment I swear you'd think a Japanese man lived their. I mean I've got kanji logo's everywhere. Clock's, mouse pad, neon wall-mounted signs, rugs, towels, decals, welcome mats, minature model cycles, radio controlled cycles, shirts, sweaters, jackets, t-shirts, underwear, wallets, dog tags, caps, hats man you name it with a busa sign i bought it. But Suzuki's had 7 years to come up with a stronger Busa. And if I decide to get that new Kawai in 07 in the Busa comes better in 08. Suzuki are out of there stinking mind if they think i'm going to turn around and buy a new bike the next year! What do they think i'm rich or something!!! They should stay loyal to their customer's as we have stayed loyal to them!!!
AM I WORNG?!?!?!

im not sure what this thread is about. But you if you were following this closely, you would have noticed that they were hinting the "unchanged busa" the 2007 being introducted. Just be patient, and wait like the rest of us for the 2008. And pass the

. Other than that, if you want the Biggest, Baddest, fastest, machine on the street.....I think your riding for the wrong reason. And you need to think about making a drag bike if your going for that, and have some DEEP pockets. Even if you have a 2008 Busa, turbo'd out...theres always gonna be something faster thats street legal. I.E the twin turbo'd Viper that produced 1200HP. Get something you want/like/can live with...and be happy with it. Enjoy your bike like the rest of us do.

I guess it's time for you to get a new wardrobe and redecorate your pad

Couple of questions:
1) Do you really own a Busa?
2) If so, do you know how to ride it?
3) How do you figure the ZX-14 "Raped" and "brutally defamed" the Busa?
4) If you want the most powerful bike, why don't you go buy a 14 and be done with it?
There's always gonna be something more powerful coming along behind whatever bike's on top......

You will NEVER have the baddest machine on the street. Never. Someone out there will always have something faster.

It's been proven that with the right riders, the 14 and the Busa are very evenly matched. Both bikes have beaten the other. Dyno numbers mean nothing. Real world riding does.

I disagree with you on so many points you made so I'll start with some...

1. Lose the cussing. It's not tolerated here. You're new, so it's ok for now. But it's not tolerated at all. I learned that lesson the hard way by being banned before!

2. People mod their bikes. Most sportbike owners will mod their machines! A nicely modded gixxer 1k will beat a stock Busa. Get my point? If you bought a stock Busa or stock 14, you wouldn't have the baddest bike on the street! Somebody out there will have a modded 14 or Busa or even a turbo Busa.... so get the bike that suits you. A stock Busa or 14 will knock your socks off in all gears, and also smoke any car you come across.

3. Turn signals on the mirrors would look silly on the Busa or the 14. They look better integrated into the nose.

4. If you are such a Suzuki enthusiast and a follower of the Busa you'd have been following along more closely. It was said over a month before the Paris and Vegas show that Suzuki would keep the same design/engine for 07 and that 08 would be the likely year for a re-vamp.

5. Have you even ridden a Busa or a 14? The stock numbers in magazine tests are very similar. Like I said... the Busa has beaten the 14 in top speed runs and vice versa. But tests have shown the Busa to be way more aerodynamic and better in the twisties. Oh, but the 14 has better brakes! LOL! OOOOOOHHHH!!!!

6. You're not going to ride your bike at 185mph down to Blockbuster Video or do 0-60 in 2.2secs at every light. So... stop worrying about what does what. Many people here could have purchased ANY bike on the market and they chose the Hayabusa... because it's still the king, proven to be reliable, great resale value, is open to endless aftermarket mods....

nuff said? I hope so!

Peace,
PaND

Another thing...

Saturday during my lunch break at my MSF course I guy riding a Harley asked "is the busa still the fastest production bike?". Seriously. This goes to show that non sportbike owners know the Busa. If I had a 14, he wouldn't have known wtf it was! I actually told him that it (busa) still is... because of aerodynamics and rider influence. But to be fair, I also mentioned that the zx14 is right there with the Busa, now.

Hey, Suzuki's site still claims their Busa is the fastest... so that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I agree with you 100% dude! You're like ... totally right! The Hayabusa sucks! It took Kawasaki 2 models of the ZX-12R and the ZX-14 ... the culmination of 7 years of work in order to MATCH the busa ... so now that they've finally done it, the Busa sucks! I don't care about all the drag racing titles it has ... IT SUCKS! And all those land speed records it holds ... I don't care about those either ... THEY SUCK TOO! Sure I can make look better and run faster with all those aftermarket parts that are available for it, but I'd rather get a ZX-14 and hope to run across 1 of the 4 stock Busas in America. Then when that pilot sees I can get to 180mph a half second faster than him, he'll see he bought the wrong bike, unless of course he's a better rider than me. But its all about the bike and not the rider, so I won't have to worry about that. Then after I beat him with my over-heated bike, I can make us a couple of hamburgers on my bike's George Foreman Grills. HAH! THE BUSA AIN'T GOT NO GEORGE FORMAN GRILLS! NOT EVEN IN THE AFTERMARKET! What a bunch of dweebs those guys at Suzuki are.

How dare they leave one of the best selling and best performing bikes ever to hit the market unchanged! I'm with you all the way dude. Yes ...

Who cares what YOU ride? Lamb rides a hayabusa and doesn't NEED TO BE anything. Prestige means nothing without self-esteem, and you my friend seem to be lacking.
Welcome to the board and let the good times roll!

Jar-Jar says, "what was meesa thinkin'?" when he bought his 06 Busa when he could have bought a new 14!!!

Then Qui-Gon Jin stepped in and said "there's always a bigger fish." and Jar-Jar shut his mouth!!!

---

We have to be realistic and actually sit back a moment. Ok, this is 2006 and we have stock motorcycles that can do... say... 190mph stock. Ok.

So... do we expect in 2016 that we'll have bikes doing 230mph stock? I don't think so! We've pretty much reached the top speeds we're going to see. Ok, big whoopty-doo if someday a stock bike reaches over 200... who cares!? Because we've already got bikes being modded to do nearly 300mph!!! The Busa is still the bike that holds the record, ridden by some mick in Ireland I think! LOL! (joking with the 'mick' remark)

All that's left is making bikes to do more insane drag runs fully stock. That's all.

I think the only true way to match up the 06 14 vs the 06 Busa is to have Kaw and Suzuki pick the best rider they can find and have each one spend 1 year on their bikes. Then... find a perfectly smooth road with 0 wind factors.... and then do some serious road racing. Then, and only then, will we find out..... because dyno runs, road s with different riders mean ziltch.

Real Busa owners know they have an amazing machine. Owners who ride every single day on their bike. Not posers who buy a Busa to mod it and then sell it... and then they buy a 14 to show it off with freaky mods.... ooohhh!!! Who on Earth would do that??? lol!!!

Since i am having a laugh at this post , im gonna have a little fun ..... How would you feel to have your ass handed to you on a plate on that ZX14 by a 2800lb car? MAY I INTRODUCE TO YOU the Busa's big brother

Yup she is tagged , titled , insured and street legal and willing to wax that Zx14 and the turboed viper anytime they come a callin , she runs 7.05 on the gas (excuse the dust , its the off season). Anyway the whole point of me posting was to tell you that there is ALWAYS someone faster then you so that remark you made is just childish. I also anxiously await the new arrival of the new Busa , does that make me hate the one i have now??? HELL NO the Busa has proven itself time and time again. It took years for the Kawasaki to even step up to compete muchless take the title , suzuki will have a reply in 08 , they always do. And to the statement where you said does Suzuki expect you to buy a new Busa after you buy the ZX14 , i think thats just bad buyers judgement they arent forcing you to buy one and you KNOW they will 1up that lilo&stitch looking monster they call the ZX14. So be patient like the rest and dont worry about what is the fastest bike RIGHT NOW i would be willing to bet if you do own a Busa you cant push it to its performance extremes anyway.
