The big announcement is here… While I found most of the post on this thread funny there are a few that would be nice…. A few would never happen…..
1. Getting a new busa -- I wish, as long as we are wishing can I have turbo too
2. Suzuki taking the site ---- Why they get free third party ads from this place
3. ZX 14 ---- please, you know me better than that…..
4. No new server --- is there something wrong with the one we have?
With all of the changes around here day to day and in light of the recent raffle fiasco I need to lean more and more on the members to help take on functions… The mods we have do a great job but they do not get any pay and as luck would have it they have full time jobs so they cant be here all the time (except Michelle).
The awesome thing about hayabusa.org is the ability for open mature discussion (most of the time) and the mutual respect that builds over time…. I find life pretty incredible when you take the opportunities it provides. About two months ago there was a small altercation between myself and another member and because of that I believe it actually opened the doors for a better friendship.
As you all know I am a pretty conservative guy, I live in central Oklahoma in a pretty secluded environment. I am pretty opinionated and sometimes closed minded with my thoughts… (Remember this it will come in handy a few paragraphs down)
This site was created about 7 years ago and I have had it about 5 of those… My vision was to create a place where anyone could go, share ideas and information about the bike and to meet folks from all over world… At the same time I wanted that place to be free of offensive material and to keep the intellectual numbers above average. I think that we have attained that status and I personally feel that this is the reason for the success of my vision… Lots of great stories, lots of pictures, ideas and friendships have been forged because of this site….
However…… I do know that being on the Internet and having hundreds of folks together you will get diversity and differing opinions. My vision will always stand, it is paramount that we keep that in place. No porn, nothing offensive (using average person philosophy ) and using the golden rule daily. We need to keep different viewpoints open and make sure that we are level and balanced.
With all of this information I am announcing something that I thought I would never ever do….. Effective now Rubbersidedown aka RSD, aka Rubbah, aka the big brute will be a moderator on the site…. (I told you it wasn’t a huge deal just something I thought I would never do) Andy and I have had some awesome conversations and I think that he brings a lot to the table. Those on the site that think I am overbearing on the conservative side usually agree with RSD.. There have been long discussions about the vision here and what we are about, why we do what we do and where we are headed. Andy is completely on board with this and I am pleased to have him working on the site……. I think that RSD will be able to help explain the vision and reasoning in a way that I cannot….
