Well, with a few others posting their mishaps why not post mine? I was planning a ride up to N GA tomorrow to do the 129 loop. I could tell my chain was getting a little slack so decided to put her up on the pit bull rear stand and get that squared away before tomorrow morning. Well, I got the chain slack within spec (20-30mm) and when I rolled her off the stand I wasn't being cautious enough and down she went, clutch side.
I am extremely lucky. There's a small scratch at the bottom of the starter cover, the last inch of the clutch lever broke, and the little ball that's attached to the foot peg broke off. That's IT. No fairing scratches. No rear-view mirror scuffs. No bar ends scratches. However, I feel like jumping off of a cliff. I guess my adrenalin kicked in (yet not quite hard enough) and I was able to really take her down gently. To any of the others that have made such a dumb mistake, don't fret. I'm right there with ya
You can see the scuff on the starter cover but you have to look close. I was going to get one from the underside but my camera battery died. Also, check out that dent below the peg?! What a night!
