.....and another one....Robbie Knievel now...

That would’ve been cool to see him walk in a bar you were sitting at. My daughter and I are fans of Shana Morrison (Van’s daughter) and saw her at a club in Half Moon Bay. Erin and I got there early and had just ordered dinner sitting at the bar when Shana and the band showed up. There were several seats to my left but Shana sat next to me and asked what I had ordered and ordered the same. Although I’d seen her 2-3 times before I couldn’t say she recognized me, she’s just friendly. We talked thru dinner and had a great time before the show started. I asked her to do a fav song of mine and she did.

Not to thoroughly hijack this thread but my son and I went to see Roy Rogers and the Doors keyboard player Ray Manzarek one night and before the show he came over and sat next to our table and struck up a conversation with us. He drank a couple glasses of Merlot before he started. Said he liked the movie and added that Jim had a great sense of humor.” As we talked a few fans came over to talk to him and after one walked away Ray leaned over laughingly and said he always cracks up when fans ask him if he remembers their (alleged) interaction at some concert back in the 70s. He said, “sometimes I don’t even remember the concert much less some fan!”

Heck, no worries of "Thread-jacking" here as these stories of reminiscence are very interesting....and on queue as far as I'm concerned.

I'm sure lots of you probably walked right past one of these "celebrities" and never even recognized them as many of them look very different when in low profile mode.

My old man is a heck of a guitar player.
His family moved from CT to N Ireland when he was 10, he lived there for 15 years, met my Ma and they married and moved here to Va.
He saw all the big names of the day, Rory Gallagher(the local guy), Led Zepplin, Jimi Hendrix, Cream, etc, and all in little small places.
The bassist in my dad's band(Borax) was friends with the bassist in Van Morrison, and they jammed on occasion.
He has lots of cool stories from the time.

Hi. I have met a few also. I was in a wheelchair when I got bact to the states from Nam and went to Woodstock with friends.
