Another Busa goes down...

it just so happens I have a brake lever that is extra from some parts another member sent me to fix my bike. all yours if you want.

Sorry to hear bout your bingle josh ! Looks like she took a big hit on the a*s end. b4 u start opening your wallet .... just check were the sub frame bolts to the main frame up near the battery box, see if the impact hasn't bent were that bolts together, if the main frame bolt holes are twisted you mite be in some poo, coz the new subframe wont line up. Being cast alloy, they cant be straightened !
Trashed mine last June ... ****e feeling I know>

Gotta say it's awesome to see the support on this Board!

I like MadLight's idea for a posted parts section ...I bet a lot of people could use it.

Yup, not 3 months after buying my 09... coming around a sharp corner and hit a branch in the road. Happened about a hour ago. Im fine, was wearing all my gear thank god but the bike is pretty toast... Worst part is i couldn't afford full coverage insurance (too young). So now im already shopping on ebay for new fairings, brake leavers, mirrors, windscreen, ect... Im not allowing myself to go outsid and take a closer look yet, im going to let it sink in until tomorrow to start taking it apart, im scaired that my rear frame may be slightly bent or something... :banghead::banghead:

Glad YOU are ok....That's MOST important...bikes come and go...if u still need parts i have a factory windscreen of my 08' i 'm pretty sure will go on your 09'...free to a good home MINT condition....let me know...rest up sorry to hear...but glad u r ok....The Bird

Just two last things that i can't realy find, brake light/ tail lights, and the small piece of frame on the front that the front fairing and windscreen bolt onto. Its only bent about a inch on the very end on one side so its not that bad and im thinking i can just heat it with one of those small propane torches and bend it back on my own. It doesn't support any weight besides the windscreen so i dont think it'll hurt that much. But i'd still rather find a new/used one instead, thats just my backup option.

Hey anybody buy those aftermarket fairings? Are they the same durability as the OEM? Like same thickness and such?

Sorry about your crash and so glad you are ok. Look at it this way: As you rebuild her, you will get to know her more intimately...always fun!

Looks like you backed her in. I've seen arguments both ways on the aftermarket plastics, Looks like you ride it  more than you wax it. Some guys tape up the plastics & Rhino line over the rash, back on the road cheaper. You put all new factory plastic out of pocket & you'll want to park & shine it. Sure makes her pretty though. Make sure frames good before dropping the cash.

well i think the first hit was on the back right side, thats where i bent the subframe all up back there and smashed the tail light, blinkers, and fairing. Then bounced up and landed on her nose killing the brake lever, both mirrors, bending the front upper fairing stay frame, and leaving road rash all across the front fairing, headlight, and front turn signals. Last she stopped on her left side leaving very little rash on the stator cover (thanks to it being in the ditch by then). Both the side fairings are about all that came out still good. But doing the replacement work myself i think i can keep it under about 1200-1500 thanks to a few good guys on here

Good, I just saw where a guy said he "threw away" his OEM mufflers, too bad he didn't keep them for his buds. Hope its closer to 12 for ya. Tough break.

Ugh! That's the problem with riding sporty on public roads......... no corner workers or track maintenance. I like to ride a bit aggressively, and blind turns are a nice rush. But if there's a branch, oil, grit or a stopped/slow vehicle, we're screwed.

Hey,
Any luck with the straightening of your sub frame?

na, i ended up ordering a good used one instead of messing with the hassle. Thing is i didnt realize the "fender" was a seperate piece so i just had to order that in today... still waiting on my fairings to ship too.. besides that everything else is on its way to at least get her on the road again. She'll never be a show bike but i ride about every day anyway so realisticly that wasn't going to happen anyway
