Another day at the office

Cool pic... Muzzle to muzzle - I've been told this it intimate gesture caninies make - they truly allow you into their space.

What are wolves like? Are they dangerous to the public? Do they make good pets? Can you have them like any other dog?

Some of these are from when I worked in Colorado. One pic was taken when I rode up there over 1000mi in winter.

When you learn about them the bad rap wolves have is very undeserved but, they are far from dogs an don't make good pets. They have traits that are bred out of dogs.

Wow. Next Christmas party I'm at, when someone asks me, "what do you do for a living?", I'm telling them I do your job! (even if there are no wolves here in Australia!)

Yes in all the pictures, you are not playing with them. They seem to be tolerating you and allowing you to be their presence.

Where did these wolves come from? Born in captivity? Injured/rescued from the wild? Or people dumb enough to think they could have them as a pet and had to give them up.

After you've been there awhile they more accept you as a pack member instead of tolerate you.

As for your question. All of the above.

Amazing.. I have been on a major Wolf aficionado for some time now. My favorite thing to do on date nights was to head up to the Hills above Sarajevo to a burned out shell of an old bed and breakfast. Once there, I would ask my girlfriend if she wanted to see something neat and listen to the dogs in the city respond to my howls. The whole city would resonate for minutes on end once I let out the beast.. It was hilarious and my girls would always smile and get a kick out of it. They kept coming back too so I guess it was pretty cool. Now I need to find a howling competition this year.
