Not for the faint of heart.

...though of course, we've all seen worse...

Wash out on a left hander into the shoulder and gravel?

Exactamente.

The bike would continue down to the bottom of the ravine for another 25 feet or so...as would it's pilot.

Incidents like these tend to attract a lot of attention.

It's a high-profile get-off.

Glad the rider wasn't too badly beat, though.

First pic is of the offending corner. Kinda tight, as you can see...

??? Any idea what caused the accident. He go in to the curve too hot? Glad he wasn't hurt too bad. At least he had on a helmet and jacket.

It took 4 CHP cars to check this out  . Geezzzzzzzzz, your CHP guys much have a lot of free time on their hands  . Big wrecks here only get (at the most) 2 OHP cars, maybe because there's less people in the Whole State of Oklahoma than in an LA suburb  . "OH" how I love living out here :cheerleader:

According to Rick, the guy panicked in the turn, grabbed a fist-full of front brake and the rest is recorded history...

my bet is that this is a popular corner, just like deals gap, photog's setup on corners that look good on film..

Look allot like some corners on our local road here called Lime Creek Road. we get allot of people that come in to hot on these reducing radius turns and it bits them every time.

Yep, but the whole mountainside is like that, Randy. It's why Palomar is so popular and sought-after...she can never be tamed, though... Crashes like this are a common occurence on the weekends...

Every weekend there are photographers set up to take pictures and every weekend someone is getting hauled off the mountain similar to this or worse. Probably trying to keep up with the 'Busa's that went around the corner in front of him...:poke:

Rick sets-up there every weekend Saturday and Sunday. Inevitably, it's just a matter of time, before he sees one of these.

He sells the pix on his website. Bicyclists, cars, and motorcycles all pay for his talent...

Here's one of me... Additionally, if you didn't catch it in my Ride Pix 31JAN09 thread, Rick is going to be the photographer at the Stampede this coming July. Great guy; very talented!
