Ok what can I say after reading the Post, Am I old enough for a Hayabusa. I have the 05 Red&Black I understand that is the fast one. I have been riding for 40 years oops told on myself. I have been a dragracer at the local Dragstrips and even now cannot get it out of my Blood. anytime I hear a 4cylinder screaming my hair stands up and I get goose bumps. Why did I want an Busa. Comfort compaired to the CBR100RR I had. could help but love it but the knee pain was allful. The busa feels and looks great.
Saw post where there was talk about age and when they should buy one. My son wanted a bike and he is 34 and never had one. So I told him to get a safe Bike. that would be a sport bike, they have fantastic Brakes and handle Extremly well on curves. and the Power to pass and avoid problems.. Now I suggested the 650 to start. Ok after 300 miles under his belt we rode to Daytona on speedweek tuesday. I had told him not to hard twist the throttle or He would flip.. On Speedway blvd. I left a light under a little hard excelleration. Many bikes were at the light at the same time. I looked in my Mirror and the street was clear. I turned around and went back. they had moved the bike to a parking lot.. He had rolled on hard in first gear then went wfo.. the bike went airborne stood on it's tail and dumped him on the pavement, slid down the steet wearing out the sliders.. Lucky him he only skin't his knee. $400 damage to the bike.. swore he understood the power thing now.. So all I can say about the Busa. only if you have a lot of common sense. then you buy one.. Otherwise start smaller like the 650 and learn how to survive first.. I am almost old enough to ride mine.
