I Picked up a used one at the bike shop a couple of weeks ago (190 Pilot Power that is) and put it on the rear of my gixxer. Still had about half life left so I though I'd use it for burn outs. I found I could spin it relatively easy, especially when the tire was a little cold. I don't think it's because the compound is not sticky, I think it's because of the profile of the tire. I've been doing wheelies on it but she is pretty wobbly when she is up high. Made me a little apprehensive on one wheel for a while. I didn't get her much over about eighty on one wheel. I think I'll finish the tire off this weekend and put a round profile tire back on. Much better for wheelies!
No, actually I used to favor the left side. Had a wider strip on the right. Over the last two + years of riding I've constantly worked to eliminate that and at this point I'm equally as comfortable turning in either direction. It just so happened that yesterday I must have got jammed up by traffic more in the good left handers. Traffic was pretty bad yesterday and I didn't get to hold my normal pace through a lot of the good stuff. The strips on my wore out stock Dunlops on the 10 were even. The strips on the Powers will be equal, or non existent soon.Bullet,
seems you're more comfy on the right. Noticiable difference from your photos. I'm the opposite, I have leaner stripe on my left. Out of curiousity, are you a lefty (left-handed)?
My Dunlop was stabbed to death by a nail with only about 1000 miles on it, I replaced it with a PP and have to say you are right.Yeah, that's true, but the 218 has a more rounded profile new comared to the Powers. Also, the edges kinda shoulder off on the 218's where the Powers have a pretty even slant all the way to the edge.I've noticed that when you get new tires, you'll always feel a big difference, especially if you've worn a flat spot down the middle of the tire, the roundness of the new tire makes a world of difference.Have you tried Dunlop D218's? They are quite a bit rounder than the Powers. You be sure to give us some photos of those puppies once you get the chicken strips scrubbed off! javascript: InstaSmilie()
