True Nuff, but I was thinking of a little certain place that's pretty secluded... Real easy to evaporate a soul for a month or so... Besides, the fugging Caribbean blows chuncks... at least in Virginia you can prolly still get a pizza and a cold beer... ;)

Dropping a new bike sucks, but newbies shouldn't be starting out on new bikes anyway, let alone new SPORTbikes. Even 600's are no joke. They have so much to learn...tires might have still been cold...and new too (worst combo). I know a guy at work that laid down his new RC51 as he was driving home from the dealer because of the cold and new rubber. Anyway, hope dude turns out alright

i know a guy who was riding a dual purpose and still went down. i rode dirt bikes for years and choppers for a couple years. got a busa and in 3 months i went down. i think anyone can go down new or used bike doesnt matter. the right situation and you can go byebye

Very true... I will take the odds of the experienced rider though...

Take note that rider a chopper is much more forgiving then riding a sports bike... The position of the sport bike tends to make the bike less forgiving then your chopper... Lock up the front wheel on your sportbike and see what happens...

(Example: Generally, since there is more weight on the front of the bike, the bike tends to want to pull you down when the front locks... Much easier to keep the front straight on a crusier if the front locks.)

This is so true new riders have no place on todays sports bikes. New riders should go out and pick up an old 500cc bike learn on that then move into a sports bike. After 20 years of riding, every time I get a new bike I spend time getting to know the bike. No way would I think experience riding would automatically apply to the new bike. Each bike has it own characteristics and it takes time to learn them, I got my busa in March, first one and every time I go out I learn something more about it.

Could also be that he was tryin to make a turn and was in too hot, ( could put any of the complications like cars etc)....
In any case it always pays to ride within your own limits, however hard that is to do, especially in the begenning, when strarting out...
Hell, even experince riders make mistakes like that...

On, another note, with the bikes getting lighter and more powerful each year, do you think there should be licence restr. like in GB, varius Europe countries....?

Any thoughts...
Like below 600 and above or something....( 600's scare many new riders nowadays wheater (sp) they like to admit or not....

I agree, I think the U.S. needs license restrictions just like Europe uses. It would save tons of lives and bring our ridiculous insurance rates down

I started off on what I could afford (small), and worked my way up...23 years later and still no wrecks (fingers crossed
