drilled four small holes...
IMG_0238_2Small.jpg

cut a small piece of foam...
IMG_0239Small.jpg

placed it above the ECU...
set the control box on the foam...
IMG_0242_2Small.jpg

and zip tied the box to the frame rail.

It's out of the way and is easily accessed under that plastic thingy.

Very nice!! I ended up doublestick tapin' mine under the seat...

I was going to put it in that location, but I upgraded tool kit...

and there wasn't room...

otherwise that's where I would have installed it.

Now that is a lot of tools!!! My boot is getting filled with electronics, adding a GPS locator and then a power source for my cell phone.

I did it the lazy way and put the cell phone power outlet in the tank bag by connecting two, two prong trailer plugs with inline fuses to the battery...
IMG_0248Small.jpg

They come out between the seat and tank...
IMG_0249Small.jpg

connecting to another plug with a switch wired inline that passes thru a machined aluminum plate into the tank bag..
IMG_0251Small.jpg

and it all connects to a female cigarette plug inside the tank bag.
looks like this from the outside...
IMG_0253Small.jpg

it allows me to charge the phone in the bag (or whatever I want) and connect a electric vest to one of the first set of plugs. As for GPS I'm still using paper!

Nice job,Ken, and where did you get the pwr outlet adapter attached to your tank bag?

Hi Rhythm!
I just took a two prong plug and a cigarette lighter extension, cut the ends off and spliced them together. I got the idea from this kit.

But I thought, "hey I can make that, why pay for it?" and to paraphrase you in a previous post "Ain't nothing wrong with caveman style once in a while."
Here's hoping you are still planning a trip to the Maritimes this summer.

I was referring to the metal plate adapter on the side pf your tank bag, Ken.  Also, I wont be visiting (N.S. and NF) this summer. The summer of 08 is more likely when I will be heading up your way (Cape Breton) and across to NF.

Keep your knees in the breeze.

Oops... my bad, I just free handed a drawing with the dimensions of what I had in my head and a machinist whipped it up for me. He also made the bar end to fit the Napoleon mirror.

Now how about taking a few more photos of your mad creation (bag power outlet). I may have an ideal of how I can make myself one using parts from a local hardware store.

Two giant aluminum washers, one with counter sunk holes, a gasket with a slit and the appropriate bolts.

Inside the bag...

On a unrelated subject, I hacked off the fender last night, turned the plate mounting braket upside down and ground it to fit snug under the tail light. By no means as sweet as your fiberglass fab job
