Anyone have any opinions on anti-theft devices.....locks, alarms, lojack, etc...

I had lojack on my last bike and needless to say that didn't work out too well. Just wondering what everyone else is doing and if its working.

I remember seeing this one anti-theft system that used shotgun shell blanks. Any theif would crap his pants when it went off.
this setup would really be fround against in the states.

I look at it this way. If a thief really wants your bike they're more than likely going to get it. Making your bike less atractive than others helps and never leave it at a questionable location.

Yea I know if they want it they are going to take it. I'm just anal and can't not take any precautions and I'm just trying to figure out the best "legal" method. If I could watch it from a distant window with a .50cal rifle I would certainly enjoy doing some street justice.

+1 million  FWIW, I use Kryptonite disck locks for both front and rear rotors. Hope the crappers skip my bike..or slow em down a bit.

But a pick up truck/van and 2-3 strong backs is all it takes to snatch a bike.

That does suck, a mini van and a few guys. I have yet to leave my bike out of sight yet, full coverage insurance as well. Also have a noise making wheel lock.

Noise makers and making it inconvenient is the best bet. Make it take them longer than 1 minute and it becomes less ideal of a mark.

My personal anti-theft device consists of a little comprehensive insurance coverage and:

If they want it, they'll take it.

At home, just a rotor lock. In the field, my Spot Tracker under the passenger seat works. (That way I can track it and find the bad guys with my Glock handy).

Oh Snap! Thats a damn good idea!!

Also, check out the little Dewault tool tracker thing! It is SLICK!!!

I almost went the flock route but chose a berreta instead, Is it legal to use when someone is trying to make off with your busa?

All states are different. In CA you can only use it if there is an imminant threat to your life, not your property.

In Texas i think u can use it if someone looks at you funny! :)

I use a Datatool S4-C1 Red immobilizer and alarm a Oxford monster padlock and chain and a Oxford Omega disc lock and am going to buy another disc lock. I always try to park in a crowded area but I still worry. Might seem like overkill but I've had a bike stolen before and it's not a nice feeling.
