Only thing to add:  you need some Cornbread with that ham and beans.
Dang, you sound like you grew up in the South too! + 1 on the cornbread!

Nope... not the South. Born and raised in Staten Island, NY and some parts of Northern Jersey....

Married me a backwoods girl who can make hamhocks and navy beans like no one else. Big bowl of beans, some cornbread... makes this yankee very happy. LOL

Also, I like the cornbread with milk the next morning... nice bowl filled with cornbread and some whole milk...mmm mmm goooodd!!!
Dude you grew up in the carolinas an don't lie bout it.

Want to really impress the wife, make her some cornbread that will knock her socks off. Go to the store and buy 1 box of Jiffy mix corn bread, and 1 box of Jiffy mix yellow cake mix and combine the two. Follow the instructions on each box as one mix uses milk, and one uses water. Cook as instructed and put some butter on the top while hot. It's the best Mmmmmm.

That sounds GOOD, gonna try that!

BTW A couple shots of Capt. Morgan on a ham adds some flavor, and makes the house smell great.
Capt. and some brown sugar...yum. Use it in baked beans too.

Sounds good. I myself am frying two Turkeys tomorrow afternoon. We have a large crowd at the house so we need more meat...and all this talk of food is making me hungry...Stuck at work with only soup for dinner...

Hey Greg, where are the photos of the green eggs and ham you promised us ?

Add a half a bag of frozen corn to the batter before you put it in the oven. Or a whole bag, if you wish. Great down-home style wonderful stuff, man! You'll love it!

I'm doing a prime rib for the first time this year. In the oven right now as we speak. Smellin' reeeeeeeally good right about now! I can hardly wait!
