Anybody got some moped forks?

So my 17 year old daughter needed transportation to go to the community college about 5 miles away, and she's been wanting a scooter for a long time, so I found a nice little 50cc Tomos Sprint two-stroke.

It took her all of 10 minutes to crash it. Thank God she was wearing a helmet and jeans. And that she wasn't riding something faster.

Anyway,,,,,, other than being a little banged up (my daughter, that is), she creamed the forks and the fender. Anybody got anything laying around that looks like this?

They appear to have a 1 1/8" threaded steerer tube (like an older bicycle), but sort of like motorcycle forks, not mountain bike forks. Probably anything off a European moped would work (Tomos, Puch, Sachs).

The only forks I'm finding are about as much as I paid for the freakin' moped!

Any help would be appreciated.

Wife just called from the doctors office. My daughter has a busted kneecap, but her leg is too swollen to put a cast on it. :( Shot of painkiller something to take the swelling down. They're waiting to put a splint to immobilize her leg until Monday.

I'd feel more sorry for her, but I got a moped to fix. That, plus the fact that she went out with friends last night and argued with me when I tried to stop her.

ouch, that sucks bud. but yes definitely be thankful wasn't something more powerful, or expensive to fix, and that she's relatively okay

Maybe google a dealer and ask for prices? ebay has nada for forks, good luck

ouch...get her something more safe to ride, those thing wooble and shake and the crash probably wasnt all her

It took her all of 10 minutes to crash it.

I'm sorry bud but

Hope that this doesn't slow her down nor steer her away from riding bikes. Wishes for a speedy recovery to both.

Thanks for the good wishes for Alex(andra). She's all doped up on the couch with a big-@ss splint on her leg, drifting in and out of sleep. My wife says they would not show her the x-ray, which makes this all the more ominous. :-(

So much for celebration of a new rider. I made her put on jeans, but she was so anxious to ride that she wouldn't put on a jacket. Lot's of road rash on one elbow. Maybe this will be a good life lesson. At least she's learned that crashing sucks. :rulez:
