Anyone demo a Busa before buying?

saw one in the paper for sale and met him in a parking lot and drove it around a bit it had been laid down but not bad it was an 04 i was really thinking about buying that bike but when i went to the stealership and saw the 05 i just fell in love with "mine" i kinnda bonded with it (i know it sounds silly but it is true) i just knew i wanted that one . she is a beauty beyond compare ; to me .
Every little scratch  every little ding and rock chip they are like growing pains for her i hurt as she does. my wife says im over the top with this busa thing  i will tell you now im no great rider like alot on here are and im no great mechanic or busa wizard like alot of the other members are . but this i will say i love my Busa more than anything in have ever owned i respect her because she can get mean as h*ll and quickly go beyond my 33 years of rideing experiance . but she can also be sweet and kind and hand another bike its a$$ while doing so .  to me the Busa is more than just a bike; it is a dream, it is freedom, it is a smile when all else is a frown, it is a falcon closeing in on its pray, it is a place in my heart, what can i say I love it.

Wow, man overboard!

Just kidding. I've noticed that everyone that has a Busa loves it.

Another thing I've noticed about all Busa's. Somehow, even if two are the same color, they are different. Does that make sense? Each bike seems to be as unique as it's owner. Cool!

It's still overboard!

but I might print it and frame it. I could have written those same words with my sentiments for my beast.

i had them talked into a somewhat test ride behind the stealership on my new busa. I think its something about 11k in cash and a supersized lump in my pocket that help convince them. however i offered them less for the bike and told them if they sold it to me for that price, a test ride was not needed. the rest is history...

I got to take mine for a test ride!

After I signed all the paperwork!

Like everyone else...NO regrets!

Heck I had a hard enough time finding a dealer that actually had one in stock. When buying a used one I would want to put it through its paces but for a new bike (read - with warranty) it wasn't necessary. Mine had 0 miles on delivery. I chatted with a few busa owners and they said for my size it should fit like a glove -- they were right. Couldn't be happier with mine (well it would be a lot better if it were free and paid me about 50k a year to hang out and just ride ;) )
Also, I don't mind the no test drive policy as that means no one got to ring the snot out of it before you.

I was lucky enough to have a buddy with a Busa. We swapped bikes for a day (I had a ZRX1200 at the time) and that was the beginning of the end for the Z-Rex. I owned a Busa about 3 months later.

Very few (intelligent) dealers allow test rides. I worked at a multi line store 4 yrs. We sold around 150+ units per mo. In that time, you could count the test rides on your hands.
If you know how to ride, (and you SHOULD if you are considering a busa) then all you need is to sit on the thing in the showrood to know if it fits you. The power (as you already know) is more than sufficient.

Unless you ride in on a XX, a 12R, a 1K or the like....chances of a test ride on a Busa are VERY slim.

It is more bike than most people need....without a doubt....in fact, very few can actually use ALL the ability of this machine.
It is comfy, it is smooth, it is stable, and it is faster than a greased pig.

Just get one.:D

MI, Oxford "WHEELS USA"

I was able to test drive a 2005 1300R and a GSXR1000. They have a track behide the shop that you can see how the bike handles and feels. Money down just incase you drop it or break something. They also put 3 miles on the bike for you to break in the tire.

The GSXR1000 and the 1300R was a tricky pick but I found the soft ass seat on the Hayabusa and the low end Torque extremely nice. I also liked the Gauge on the Hayabusa aswell as the ungodly image it has with people that see it.

When picking the Hayabusa I thought of 1 last thing, Upgradability in performance. If I felt I was ready in the future for more power I would like something I can speed up without any problems. All hands down on the Hayabusa, but the weight factor "480lbs vers 365lbs". I drove my Hayabusa "red/black" off the dealer the same day and put 100 miles on it bringing it home.

I am 20 now and the Hayabusa is my first new off the dealer vehicle. The Feeling of driving it the first time was eye tearing, aswell as the joy of owning it to this day.

If I would of got the Hayabusa before owning the GSXR600 3 years before. Most likely I would be dead right now. Everything I did wrong and learned off my GSXR600. I also have never totaled a bike before nor plan to

If the Hayabusa isn't going to be your first bike and you have riding experience under your belt, get it and be proud of it.

Even a stock Busa looks fast when its parked, modding isn't needed to make it what it is and alot of people here feel that way. Put some cans on it and call it a day. Many dealers will give you bolt on exhaust cans for free if you buy there bike.

I see Hayabusas for $10,000 year around in Michigan the best place to get a KILLER ASS deal is....

My dealer let me take a brand new Gixxer 1K with only 8 miles on the odo out for a test ride....he would likely let me test drive any bike I wanted as long as I was at least considering purchasing it.

I did not buy a Gixxer until about 3 months later.

You would not want to test ride a busa before you bought one! Why you ask? Because after the ride you would walk into the dealership with a crazed zombe look, in a euphoric trance, willing to pay whatever price the dealer asked! Not smart! By the way, I'm thinking about purchasing an F16 Eagle. Where can I get a test flight in one before I make my decision? All kidding aside, just go out and buy the damn thing already, your satisfaction is guaranteed!

I beat all of you I bought it over the phone without ever seeing it in person. I just knew.
Me too. Although I had been in the show room and checked it out.

A buddy had the good fortune of misfortune recently though. He rides an '05 Hardly Sportster and got to ride my busa. I had gone down kind of hard recently and need (wanted) to get my bike home so I let him ride it for me. I think he's hooked now!

No test rides here either. I had no quarms about shedding out the dosh, I fell in love with the Busa the moment I saw it. I didn't care what it was like to ride, and when I had bought it, all turned out well.

Suzuki Canada travels across the country every summer with a trailer full of bikes and puts on demo days. When they were in Edmonton I went and rode the Busa. 2 days later I bought one.

Without the test drive I don't think I would have purchased it. But I'm glad I did!
