Winter's a comin' and I will soon be filling up my Expedition every couple days while I commute. Anyone know if my beast will run on Gasohol or a half and half fill up? Because we all know these prices will keep going up and up and up and up.

One thing is for damn sure: At least our current administration has bolstered our econonmy....

What year is your car? My 2003 Tahoe can run on it but not all cars/trucks are setup for it.

as long as the alcohol content isn't too high, it should be fine....alcohol is tough on rubber....o-rings, lines etc... I'd check with your local dlr if I were you....

Oh, by the way...KNOCK THAT SHID OFF! Winter is NOT just about here.......hell, didn't summer just start?..............dam, where did the time go?

We have AT LEAST 3 more months of riding left! AT LEAST, DAMMIT!

so just quit talkin "winter" ........sorry, I'm ok now.

Yeah, I've read a few things about that regarding seals going bad quickly. Some articles mentioned a special type of fuel filter?

we have a 99 Exploder.. I mean Explorer, and have noticed that if we use Premium, we get 100 more miles per tank than if we use regular. It may mean $4-$5 per tank, but if that means 100 more miles, it's definately worth it.

Give it a shot on one full tank and see what happens.

56.00 my last fill up. 98 Expedition, I feel your pain.
It's people like you guys that have these monster SUV's that are the cause of the gasoline usage constantly going up. I pity none of you. Sorry, I don't.

Sorry to come off so mean, but it's true. I have a friend who works in Raw Energy and he's up to date on all the current affairs with Gasoline, Natural Gas, and Electricity. He told me gas usage has gone up 1.4% from last years usage ... IIRC, not sure how accurate that is, but I know it's an increase.

So all you guys that feel the need to pimp those big SUV's, you're the ones causing us all this pain. So like I said, I don't have pity for ya. I'm selling my midsize SUV for a econobox soon. They figure if we continue using it at $2.50 a gallon, then we'll pay more because our usage hasn't dropped. It's basic business 101.

The increase in petroleum used by China, oil futures speculation and the cost of dozens upon dozens of different gas blends that have to be refined differently across the USA is the cause of the high gas prices here, <table style=filter:glow(color=red)>NOT SUV's</table>

Your friend should know this if he is "in the business". SUVS don't support terrorism and they don't run up the price of gasoline, period.

You're half right my friend, that's the half I didn't mention because I assumed it was fairly common knowledge.

First off, yes the refineries are screwing us.

But you're stoned if you think these gas pig SUV's aren't at base of the problem as well OR you just choose to ignore the fact that we're consuming more resources annually ALONG WITH these gas price hikes that is causing the prices to continue to skyrocket BECAUSE we're using MORE.

it's really not that hard to see or accept. Gas usage has increased even with the price hikes, and they are exploiting it until we lower our consumption. Sure some parts of that hike are due to your point, but some are definitely due to 17 year olds driving Humvees and Expeditions and Escalades when they don't need them. These are not the only people either, just an example.

Glade to see someone else bought that gas guzzling beast. I have no idea about the gas, but I have found it gets 13mph no matter what I do, up hill, down hill, fully loaded, pulling trailer, so now I ride the train to work and drive a little as possible. If our gas prices go much higher I’m going to need to get something smaller.

Is this a misprint? You get 100 more per tank of gas when you use premium vice regular...... I gotta see this for myself. I'm extremely skeptical on this.

SUV's cant be the "only" cause of the fuel supply/price problems. My new '06 Charger drinks gas up like there's no tomorrow. I have worse mileage than my old 96 Ford Exploder. But that's the price I'll pay for gettin' a 5.7 L V8 Hemi.
